Recommended Korea Tour package

Well, I was at Myongdong on Saturday 30th December, so being weekend it was quite crowded. Things wise, there're a lot of pasar malam stalls lining the grid of streets in additional to those normal shops, and the variety and also restaurants is huge. There's a 3-4 level store right at the start of Myongdong as well (Myongdong Department Store?) and from what I casually saw, the prices there are relatively cheaper than the normal shops in Korea. So that's definitely worth a look.

is Myeongdong crowded, things there expensive?
any particular shop to recommend?

I went on 25/12/06 and came back 01/01/07, was at Jeju from 26/12-28/12, came back to mainland on 28/12 and headed to Mt Sorak, met another another group at Daeymung Sorak and Mt Sorak National Park, the other tour guide "chased" us away cause he still yet to recognise his group people (just picked them up frm airport) and afraid to mix us up...could that be your group? hehe

if pyong yong ski resort, please share some info like hidden cost, place to avoid, place to recommend etc, thanks.

There's a change of schedule, did not go to pyong yong ski resort as expected My tour ended up in Daemyung Vivaldi Ski Resort, huge place, very crowded. Nevertheless did not spoil my fun 1st time sking

Rental of ski suit (jacket, pant and Goggles) = 25000 won/pc

No rental of ski gloves, either buy one pair or you have brough from S'pore, could use you own fleece or knitted gloves too...doesn't matter cos we not professional.

Ski equipment provided.

Settle your own lunch at the ski resort, we have Burger King Fast Food set meal for 2 at 13000 won - expensive but consider cheap over there. Btw sking is consider high-end activity for the Koreans too.

Have some snacks and hot coffee after sking

Whatever is is, there are more ladies stuff to buy than for guys Saw quite a bit of imitation belts and wallets to buy Yeah roadside snacks and 32cm ice cream at 1000won only

Oh yep - those 32 cm tall ice-cream were amazing to look at; I saw them sold along Myongdong but didn't try.

No visa is required for your SG passport as a tourist for short trips to Korea.

4 hrs ++ in total (more than sufficient) we are at the ski resort actual beginner slope, 15-20mins to get your shoes and equipment on and fitted. 10mins briefing and crash course by your tour guide on ski skills.

The most difficulty beginner skiters faced is control (eleven than A) and then "fall and standup" stance.

The tiring part about my skiing is to go back up the slope after you have skated down. Initially we tried to go up slope still with are ski on then subsequently we decided to remove them and walk up the slope which is much faster and less tiring.

You actually perspired after sking despite the below zero deg temperature

Was told that a person who come on his own to stay and ski in the resort should spend about 100,000won for a 1 to 2 night stay

if you rent your ski suit, where do you keep your existing cloths, do you put it in locker?
how about shoes, can where our own shoe?

since the ski suit is 25000 wons, what is the cost for renting the ski equipent if my tour agency do not provide. what does the ski equipment includes?

The Ski Suit rental company provide a bag for you to keep your clothes in, basically you only wear your undies and probably a sweater top with the ski suit on. You will tend to perspire as you ski hence not wise to wear a lot beneath.

The ski shoes and equipment rental are apart from the ski suit rental, at this place you could share locker with your tour mates to deposit your shoes. Nope you cannot wear your own shoes, the ski shoes is abit like the roller blade shoes minus the wheels.

No idea how much the ski equipment rental cost cause mine was provided heard it is pretty expensive and cost more than rental of the ski suit. The equipment includes, the shoes, the skates ( 2 long blades) and the guiding stickers.

we went to Alps Ski Resort... Get yr own waterproof jacket and jeans and dun need to rent from them.. cause they are pretty ex.... dun need goggles also..

Skiing is fun .. got a few bruises here and there cause i have to fall down to avoid ramming into others.... Still very lousy in changing in steering

Yeah, you need not rent the suit if you have waterproof jacket and pants. The googles are definitely a must for specky guy like me to prevent glasses breakage if you fall on your face. Non specky guy may not need it.

IMO, the visor is necessary to protect your eyes. With all the sunlight rays reflecting off the white snow, one should protect one's eyes. If you have sunglasses, that'll work too; it's better to be safe than sorry.
