we were given ard 4hrs.. and frankly speaking you will be very tired by about 2hrs time.... the ski equipment is pretty heavy and climbing up the slope is the most tedious part... not to mention when you fall down to get back on yr feet with the skis is hard..... Best is detached the ski and climb up.. You can opt to take the cable car up but per trip is 10K won

MiniYap>> You go with genting??? we also experience snow up the moutain.. the ground was raining and when the cable car was going up the rain is actually snow :D .. everyone was sexcited :o

I also experience snow on my last day leaving Jeju, storm and slight snow on the way to airport :)

Sorry about the confusion, the rental breakdown:

Ski jacket and pant - 15000 won
Goggles - 10000 won
Total 25000 won.

if you like to play others e.g snowboard etc, you have rent them seperately at your expense, heard they are more costly than the normal ski enquipment.:)

did you try snowboarding there?

so you ski in the day or in the night?
did you try the gondara?
Usually tour don't let you ski at night cause they have to get to the hotel by certain time and there also dinner to catch.

For gondara, other then having to pay, it is also for experience skiter to travel up higher slopt to come down. For first time skiing like us who cannot even control well, only dare devil would dare to go up higher slopes...:p

just curious, since mt sorak is so slippery when going up to the peak, then coming down i guess will be even more dangerous.
yeah, you have to be very careful, its definitely not for people who are afraid of heights. Most people sit on their bottom to come down the slope slowly.

NB: No track shoes in snowy areas, trekking boots will be good though still not foolproof. I witness many people with tracks shoes slipped and fell. I'm in my Timberland boots, I slipped once too..haha.

Nope:) I cannot even ski properly how to try snowboarding? Snowboarding is more difficult to play and its harder to get up if you fall. I saw many Korean teens playing and they fell a lot.

seems like jeju got more chance to see snow. :)
In fact you are wrong, Jeju actually has higher temperature then then mainland most of the time. Its more rare to see snow in Jeju than on mainland. When it rains or snow in Jeju, it means "disaster" for the local there. No fishing, arigculture will be affected etc.

Question: Do heat packs actually work?
How many did you actually bring when going for the tour?

I only used one heat pack thorough my trip (I bought around 5 to 6 packs) just to try it out to see how it works.

You don't actually need it unless you are outdoor most of the time at freezing minus 0 temperature most of time. Also the heat pak reaches its peak temperature several hours later so you cannot use it for immediate heat relief...:p

I used the opened heat pak to heat my back pack later on (has camera inside)..haha

my friend prefer to ski at night, he told me when he was there last year, there is not much crowd skiiing at night as most people already went back to their hotel as they do not stay nearby. His tour group stay nearby hence ski at night.

skiiing at night is a great experience as the dark sky with stars on top make the whole place looks very romantic. skiiing in the day have to put on goggles or sunglasses as they sun reflection on the snow can be harmful to your eyes. Skiing in the day is more crowded.

Sit and slide down is not snow boarding...I don't know what you call that. Snowboarding is actually like roller blade, your two feets are bounded on the skate and you slide down standing. Something like waterskating.
