Hey guys, i was wondering, for Iron Ranger, the base of the shoe is flat yea?
That means the stitching will be in contact with the ground, thus wear off easily?
my RW 9013 also has the stitching on the bottom. Been wearing almost a year. Can see that the threads are "diminishing" but doesn't affect the sole quality and wearability.

Hi Folks,

Need some advice and input.

I'm deciding between 1907 and 877.

1907: I like the tann leather color. I presume it is easily available in Singapore for trying?

877: I like that it is 8" but I can't seem to find this model anywhere in Singapore. The leather color also look a little light. I'm not sure if it will darken over time.

Being my first Redwing, I would really want to try out the size first. Does anyone knows where in Singapore or Hong Kong (going in December) where I can find 1907 and 877 to try?

Thanks!

in singapore, the denim store at mandarin gallery or the red wings store at suntec city.

Hi Bro,

I have check both mandarin and suntec stalls for 877 but no luck. I have yet to check for 1907 cause I only fall in love with it recently. I still prefer 877 though.

its a heaven to whack from there. I rem paying for 875 for less than sgd300.
BUT take note, all the shops there are very very very small, thus if u want to take your time to test wear and walk ard, its a challenge...

You can find the 1907 in Jurong Point. I saw it there but limited sizes.

Hi guys,

I found 1907 and 877 at the lvl3 shop in Mandarin. Can I check how much does replacing the sole cost and on the average how long will it last assuming I wear two to three times a week?

depends on what sole you're replacing it with. years.
Hi,

I bought the 877. Can I check if I can replace it with the same white soles and not some black colour sole? The salesman at Suntec told me that such soles are meant for treaking and not in our urban landscape hence, it will wear out easily.

How do you guys guague when to replace the soles? The last thing I want is for the soles to get so worn out that the shoe is spoilt and re-soleing it won't help.

I remember 875 and 877 uses the same white crepe sole right?
It seems that the local RW will recommend u to go to Shukey, the one in Far East.
I approached them before, I vividly rem it cost ard $90 and will take abt 2-3weeks.

BUT how they resole I have no idea. Do they remove the whole sole and stitch it? Or just cut off the sole and glue a new one....
I will definitely prefer the former though, BUT dunno if they have the skills to do it...
