Oooh, so the soles are still good year welted except for the white portion?
Wot? Aren't red wing soles good year welted ie stitched on, not cemented-which is to say glued?
Hi guys, may i know how long u all use ur red wing shoes before they start to give way and did a resole? I used mine for 4 years and the sole starts to open up...
But 1 year is really fast. I wear my rw at least 4-5 days a week and those days I wear them I walk at least 10-15km. On my 3rd year already and no resole yet.I wear my RWs almost daily except on the weekends and the back of the sole last less than a year. I asked the cobbler at Shukey in Tampines 1 why so fast wear out, he say you don't see white tires on the road do you? I just LOL....
4 years seems about right. With our weather, the glue holding the soles on can become brittle, without regular wear.

Hey guys, received my 875 today and realised there is this cut on the corked mid sole which exposes a big part of the stitching.
is this normal or a defect?![]()
The stitch seems to be sitting nicely in the slit. I worry that the thread may come loose. Where you bought it from?
leather cleaner - RM45how much is their leather cleaner all this ? got cheap ?
I bought it from an online shop, funny thing is on the other boot there is a cut too on the exact same spot except it wasnt as deep as the one shown.

I just realised my 8165 and 875 have this slit too...
But confirm no problem, they have been with me since 2010 and no signs of loosening. Just that I may need to resole soon...
I die die want to tahan until can find someone to do heel resole, rather than the original crepe sole
