Any bros here tried aldens before? My friend who wore red wings for many years now switched to Aldens cos he said the Indy boots are more iconic and much better built.

Cos i'm considering this deal on carousell. But quite ex compared to redwings

The build quality for Aldens are on another level against Red Wing.

I would say go for the Aldens. Brand new snuff suede indys at that price is gonna be worth every cent of your money spent.

Alden is considered more premium than Red Wing, and the brand isn't built as workmen stuff from start. I think Alden popularity went higher when Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) wore 405. But how many can afford more than USD500 for rugged use...

I think the stitching looks ok leh. I have seen worse work, so messed up one probably cry wasting the boots.

Your 4th pic. I notice a "cut" seems quite jialat. Was it there before you sent for resole, or it was flaw from the resole in US?

I have seen the official videos from Red Wing, how they claim they resole boots sent back to them. It looks woah trusting i feel. I mean if you compare to the cobblers in Singapore reading the reviews how boots are left unattended for weeks, threads sew through the leather sole. I cannot relate how many locals still dare to trust these so called experts here...

The cut on the cork next to the stitches or on the leather itself? Yea, i really don’t dare send my boots to those clobbers or so called experts. I mean I spent so much on the boots might as well do it properly.

It seems like a cut through the cork and leather? I think you need to be a little careful with this area. It may not be as water resistance as previously. But the segment isn't big, so long don't tear bigger, I think should not be drastic.

Actually all RW shoes are made based on the demand and order. So you can get them to make the size you need. Shouldn't be a problem. but got to check with them. I wear size 8.5 and they told me that the next shipment is 3 months away as they are manufacturing the new batch. So that is how I got my iron range.
