Good workout today

Bulgarian splits 15kg db 100 reps
Single standing calf raises 40kg 100 reps

Leg raises 32 reps

Next cycle I will try 17.5kg db for splits.

I'm finally getting used to the intensity of such short rest periods. Still panting and feeling exhausted, but at least my strength isn't giving way after the 5th or 6th rep.

Dips 20kg 81 reps
Chin ups 80 reps

Face pulls 55kg 53 reps

I think these 7 or 8 months of gvt is stressing my joints quite severely. My left shoulder joint hurts when I sleep in the wrong position or even when I prop myself up in bed. My left wrist hurts in certain angles. My knees pop very often. My right elbow stiffens up every now and then for no reason. I have basically become an ah pek at the age of 35 :(

The good news is that I'm quite sure this is the biggest and strongest I have been. My back ache is almost completely gone. So I'm going to try and stick with this programme for another few more months if my joints allow me, and after one year is up, I'll pick another programme to follow

Quick update. 4th cycle

Bench 90kg 85 reps
Pull ups 81 reps For some reason pull ups were really tough today.

Db press 35 kg 24 reps
Db rows 35 kg 0 reps :( I felt strain in my lower back, so I decided to skip the whole thing. In retrospect, I should have substituted with some chin ups or something. I was too tired to think straight.

Leg raises 31 reps

I was cheating on some of the splits. I'm sticking to this weight and will work on form next cycle.

good workout today.

close grip bench 80kg 92 reps
chin ups 85 reps

face pulls 55kg 54 reps

i think my pulls are lagging behind because im usually quite tired after the first exercise.

5th cycle

Started with arms and shoulders because the rack was occupied for quite a while.

dips 20kg 84 reps
chin ups 82 reps

db shoulder press 30kg 30 reps
face pulls 55kg 30 reps
I'm going to increase the weights for both exercises as they feel like cool down routines.

Friday's workout

Sissy leg extensions 120 reps
Single standing calf raises 50kg 86 reps

Leg lifts 34 reps

Today's workout
Bench 90kg 86 reps
Pull ups 78

Pull overs 35kg 24 reps
Db rows 35kg 21 reps

I've decided to stop using gvt. I'm going to complete the whole cycle, take a week off, and then move on to another programme. The reason is because my joints are really worrying me. It could be that my form is poor, although I honestly think the high number of reps is the more likely culprit. I'll use the next few weeks to figure out what I want to do next.

On a brighter note, I found out that h&m has clothes that fit bui buis! Oh rejoice!

They go up to only xl, which was surprisingly large enough to fit my girth. Spoilt for choice, I ignored my sleepy baby and amused wife and went on a shopping spree. She took a pic of me as I ploughed through the racks. I realise it's also the only pic of my back I've posted. I'll take a better shot soon.

If you find it hard to buy clothes, this is the place to go. Not too expensive as well.

Thank you bro!

How things with you? Haha I see you're still coherent after all those sleepless nights! Baby is about 2 months old now?

1.5 months. Thankfully my wife has been doing night duty on weekdays, but even then there's always a sleep debt! :)

lousy workout. I was too sleepy for some reason. switched arms with chest again as I really did not feel up to it.

dips 20kg 89 reps
chin ups 84 reps

db shoulder press 35kg 20 reps
face pulls 0 reps
I was so sleepy I didn't even want to let go of the dumb bells and do face pulls. big time fail today.

there's nothing quite like a wife who gives a dose of reality when complacency sets in :D

i read through the recommended programmes sticky. what really caught my eye is doggcrapp, mostly because it doesn't involve so many sets. the other one is PHAT. i still can't decide without reading more for now.
