Can get from Qoo10 now wat...
Regular sellers like Finer and TianYu have postings there.

If you want to wait for official local I think it will be quite a Long wait....
Xiaomi is still pushing mi10 Lite at the moment and the pricing is too close to mi 10X to create a demand elsewhere....
There’s still no official global rom for mi 10X to go international market.
There’s a possibility it might follow mi 10 Youth - only available for their own local market.
Above is just my personal speculation only....

At that price, better get 9t.. 5G not coming so soon, by the time it come, 5g phone will be much cheaper and better spec. 9t lose out on the tele camera, screen size and battery, nothing major

It’s not about the spec or about 5g capability..... for that price just pay a bit more today $679 for Poco F2 Pro with local warranty from a local distributor sounds even better.

Xiaomi use a new alternative and supposedly cheaper SoC as compared to snapdragon in their Mi 10 variant for the market and priced it around $450/- ..... this can be construe reasonable... it’s those greedy resellers trying to mark up 40% from SRP$ due to its popularity or being the early party to bring in the latest....

Wait for more resellers and local distributor to bring in ... by then the pricing should come down to more acceptable level...

No need to rush... this MediaTek SoC is also testing the market and after awhile makers will still go back to snapdragon for mid-range and flagships ... very similar to good old days like Intel vs AMD chipset war...

Not likely will go back to SD, mediatek has been proving themselves quite well since G90T from Note8P. With the move from 12nm to 7nm now, the heat and power consumption should be on par with SD. That is a good 2 generation leap in process improvement. Im looking forward to cheaper high performance device.

I do agree at the price of $500+, its not worth it, K20p or K30p is better option. But if it does go to low $400 once price settle, then it looks like a good buy. The CPU should perform close to SD855.

If needed to root then get SD phone lo. As phone are coming out at faster rate, expect there will be lesser ROM due to higher diversity. Given today hardware, even stock firmware run smooth for most consumer, in fact the root/custom RoM community is pretty insignificant portion of the mass consumer.

It's like saying to use more expensive hardware to sell to the masses when only a minority benefit from the extra ability to root better. Same as some other to pay more for local set, while most prefer to get export for much cheaper price.

I used to root/custom back in the days of Samsung S1 and note2. Thereafter I just stick with stock as they perform will enough.
Bloatware? Just put them in a folder and forget about it.

well...my current phone is a j7 pro and redmi note 5 pro. which is pretty sluggish without rooting.
i guess you might be right about smoother experience with the latest specs.
just that i would like to use Titanium backup and greenify.
