still buy this almost-2 year old set

the newer RMN12 series (global version) will be coming in next few mths

11 launch was 259 or 269 .... after 2 months they quietly increased to 279 and later 289

when 12 global launch , the singapore dollar price will start from at least 289 again .... and u gotta wait minimum 3-5 months for it to promotion back down to low 200s .... haven't even count in the GST factor , probably will never go below 250 after promo

ppl who go for redmi note series are generally those who are looking for a decent and relatively cheap phone which is good for everyday use, so it is not impt for us to get the latest models which are likely twice as expensive as older models. fyi, my wife is currently using the note 5 lol.

Price point will be inflated to Ard 300 sgd even for basic model .

Standard one. No point waiting.
It's not a game changer at that price point.
Cheaper old Poco f3 still superior to newer f4 that uses same chipset but sell more expensive.
Newer is not always better that's for certain .

Redmi note 10 pro mainly has 2 advantages over 10s .
Better Camera on paper that does 4K video (no stabilisation) and better 120 Hz AMOLED screen .
Rest is pretty much same . You judge if you wanna add 40-50 bucks for these extra features .
Basically is the same bloody phone .

Pointless cause Redmi note 10s exist at same price point with AMOLED screen with mid tier chipset .

Pretty much the most budget phone you can get that can game with AMOLED display plus fast 33W charging.

Stores only go promo to clear old stocks . Therefore you need to wait for at least 13 to released until the stores decide to clear .

3-5 months is optimistic. 1-2 year practical .

next year onwards ALL online items will kanna gst

no wonder i see so many

ppl rushing buy all those cheap fones/gadgets

that not gst-ed yet

Eh? You're buying from a local platform which has to pay GST anyway... I am quite sure Xiaomi has to pay GST for what they sell you since they're registered here... importing the device then passing on to you doesn't allow them to skip the GST... it's the individual purchases from overseas based online platforms that skirt the GST payment and which will be taxed on clearing customs...

below $400 items if buy online are not charged gst

but next yr onwards ALL will kanna gst

ie. now buy $200 XM fone from their global store no gst

but next yr onwards will kanna gst

this is all due to many retailers kpkb to gahmen

say many ppl go online buy cheap cheap

cos not charged gst

thats from my understanding
