I ended up getting a Poco F5 Pro with global ROM, and made the RN12 Turbo with China ROM as a 2nd phone for ibanking apps.

Problems with the RN12 Turbo's China ROM:
Wireguard VPN doesn't work. It kinda works for a few seconds, then no internet activity
Can't set monthly data cap
Whatsapp calls don't show up at all. It'll only show alert after the missed call, which is pointless

data usage can set only if u set yr control centre to old style.
for whatapp delay need turn off miui optimization to solved it.

thanks, I just tried turning off MIUI Optimization. It did fix the Wireguard VPN and Whatsapp call issues. But brought on different bugs:

Icons become funny and inconsistent
the Soguo keyboard keeps taking over the Google keyboard as default

Too much hassle to get the China ROM to work properly.

There's a reason why they separate into CN and Global (mainly for outsai china google market) ROMS

remembered in the olden days or when XM just started out

they only hab their own CN roms and thats it

but after they venture out to outsai market (and got stable)

then they start introduce a formal separate global rom

For the savvy,

of cos chiu can bai the "cheaper" china variant and then flash global (or any working roms) into it

but for most average users

they just want a fuss-free, working fone out of box

Just moi 2 cents

Note 12 turbo use china rom while Poco f5 use global rom. I don't have much experience in both china and global rom. I think they are equally good but just that there are too many applications or links that are catered more for china users and rarely or not used at all for us here. You can get some feedback from users here or in poco f5 thread regarding china and global rom. I think best is to try them all and same to custom roms.

There are a few custom roms avaliable for note 12 turbo (EvolutionX, crDroid, aosp etc). I have only used EvolutionX and it is very stable. So far, I am very satisfied with it.

Installing custom rom is not very difficult even for new users. What is a little uncertain is to get the bootloader unlocked. I have read some instances where people are having problems unlocking it. I think it should be alright as I have just unlocked my 2nd note 12 turbo 2 weeks ago.

Have fun exploring around with your new phone! :)
thank you bro for your kind reply!

if the case of EvoX, does it still support the dual app function? that's the best item i like about XiaoMi.

Any apps that you have used are facing issues? banking apps? singpass apps? any other gov apps?

Bootloader unlock should be easy. from what i have try before it take 7 days.

No issue for me.

I have not used dual app before. EvoX has a feature of "Cloned apps" (it says create a second instance of an app so that you can use two accounts at the same time), not too sure if it is something similar to dual app.

The clone apps I went to take a look and it works the same! I think I am going to try it.

Last question. WhatsApp no delay and lag right? Haha

Whatsapp is good - no delay or lag. If there is any delay or lag, it is more likely due to issues relating to networks than phone.

Hi all, where can I get global rom to flash RN12 Turbo with China ROM?

Thx

There is a youtube video showing how to flash from china rom to global rom.

The bootloader need to be unlocked first. Once unlocked, just use miflash to flash the global rom (can be downloaded here) as you do with china rom. Thing to note is do not lock the bootloader when you are in global rom as it will brick the phone. If you need to lock the bootloader again, go back to china rom first and lock it with china rom.

Is HyperOS released for Redmi Note 12 Turbo? I don't get any updates after 14.0.27.0.TMRCNXM. Or is there a download link where I can download it? Thanks.

The codename of Redmi Note 12 Turbo China Version is marble
The codename of POCO F5 is marble
They are the same hardware.
On site offerring links to Xiaomi ROM just search marble and make sure the URL where is file is hosted belongs to xiaomi.
Don't lose your marbles.

The Poco F5 global already has the update but I need to flash the stock CN ROM so yeah I can't use the one for F5 global.

Unlock the bootloader and you can flash whatever ROM you want.
I always use Redmi with unlocked bootloader, in case of bad update flash, if the bootloader is unlock you can always recover the phone. If the bootloader is locked it will die with system is destroyed message and you will have to use EDL mode to recover.
Unless you happen to use dumb apps mandating the use of bootloader locked phones.

I'm tired of all those Google Pay and Play Store issues with unlocked bootloader and custom ROMs, so I just want to flash the factory ROM and lock the bootloader. It's not worth playing catch-up games with Google and having to worry and do a pre-check before I board a public transport or before I use payWave for payment.
