The power consumption seems rather high for this model. The issue seems to lie with the MediaTek G90T 12 nm processor.

So a 4,500 mAh battery in the pro model is equivalent to other handphones running more energy efficient processors with around 3,500 mAh battery.

transistor size isn't really a reliable metic for efficiency anyway. if u follow gsmarena tests it can keep up with rn7 battery life, which is 4000mah.

Where are you getting the numbers from?

I didn't ask for the service center and when the person responded back this message :

"Hello dear, we have appointed service to help you during the 12 months of warranty."

The first thing that came into my mind is that the warranty is cover by the shop.

Estimated from YouTube reviews (battery life tests) on this model compared with models having lower battery capacities but more efficient chips...

My real life usage is in fact experiencing good battery life. I used the phone for data tethering and manage to left with 30% juice from 8am to 6pm, the cycle was repeated every day from Monday to Friday. It's being a week and I am getting consistent battery life. I think give RMN8P some credit. Though the phone is heavy but battery life seems rather good.

Maybe my expectation on its battery life for web browsing (my main usage) is too high. Its battery life is better on calls and video playback but these are not my main usage.

I used to buy many Xiaomi phones about 5-6 years ago but their cameras always cannot make it and there were mysterious advertisements popping up. Price-wise they are value for money so I'm studying the quality and these two issues before I decide whether to switch back.

not sure why liddat leh, gsmarena reports 14h of web browsing and 107h overall endurance with the rn7 while for the rn8p its 15h and 114h respectively. so by right u should be getting better battery life. maybe it is ur other apps.

Most/all of the ads notification can be switched off. A little troublesome, but it work, and only have to do it once. Even on CN ROM, u can make it ads free. In fact I get more advertisement pop-up from other apps like Lazada which can't be turned off unless you off the app notification.

Switched from Samsung about 4-5 years back, haven found a good enough reason to switch to another brand. Got too used to MIUI.
