Yes. By right yes. Currently, I am using this on my Mi Max 3, which allows me to use 2 x Nano SIM + microSD card.

It should work for all phone with the SIM tray on the left of the phone.

I just got the Redmi Note 8 Pro 6/128 Green one today, will try it and post here.

I tried this and it works well on the RMN8 Pro. So I am using RMN8 Pro with 2 nano SIM + microSD 128GB now.

No need. It works just like "paywave". As long as your phone has NFC and it is not rooted or has a unlocked bootloader or modified, Google pay will work.

no need. don't even need to register, but need bank card with nfc functionality (eg visa paywave). first go to the mrt ticketing machine, put your physical bank card on the reader and change the payment mode to bank card (can check simplygo faq). then download google pay, then add your bank card and u can now use your phone as ezlink.

if you are going to add your card to google pay and use NFC to pay, there is no need to take the extra step to change the card payment mode at the ticketing machine..

that additional step is only applicable if you intend to use the physical card that also comes with cepas (ezlink/netsflashpay).

Bro quick qns,

For my mom case, I have entered her POSB passion master debit /ATM card into her NOTE 8 pro. But cos she is senior citizen , so she has the senior citizen ez-link card (cheaper fare if she uses that to pay her mrt fares). The card is on the back of the phone in those stickie pocket for card.

I have changed her debit card mrt payment method to CEPA only with no value in card and no auto TOP-up.

My question is when she tabs the phone back stickie pocket with the senior card on the mrt gate sensor, will she be deducted 2x (once on the senior card and once from her gpay?)

Turn off NFC.. So will only use the physical card. Want to be sure just disable Google pay if not using it

since the bank card payment is set to cepas i think if u tap the phone on gantry it will not work. but better to disable nfc and/or gpay like the bro above said, as gantry will reject if it detects multiple cards. if want to continue using gpay normally it's better to separate the phone and the card.

Cos I am trying to coax her to use gpay to pay at Sengsong and NTUC just by tapping if need to disable and enable she will not used it.

This weekend if I go out with her I will try and see the gate will reject or deduct 2x

Will update post

Looks like your mum have 2 passion cards placed together... the POSB Master debit card/gpay stored in the phone and the physical senior citizen Passion card in the stickie pocket pasted behind the phone....

Your mum will face the problem when scanning passion card at Guardian/Giant/Cold Storage outlets...

And then you worry about double deduction....

Just simply separate the cards will solve the problem.... and worry less.

You are not making things easier for your mum....just adding more woes for yourself and your mum.

Is this phone good for elderly users? Planning to upgrade my dad's J5 galaxy. How's MIUI like? Heard it's pretty bloated.. thanks in advance for feedback!

many thanks for your explanation! finally have a better understanding about twrp & magisk.

got the rn8 (non pro) cn rom, so far no issues maybe becoz i don't make payment via mobile. hopefully don't need to flash to global rom
yes u flash magisk after flashing global rom. twrp is an entirely different recovery which more powerful than stock, and is required in flashing magisk. however, it is not required permanently on the device, and u only need to temporarily boot it to flash magisk. anyway if u dont do any modification to miui it will overwrite twrp on every boot/update. not sure if n8p has a working twrp by now though.

i mean I'm not flashing to global rom now since cn rom is working fine. but it's always good to learn & understand about how to flash. you never know when you need it (e.g when apps not working etc)
CN rom works well,Y need to flash ?

Mostly because they can, but majority of the things should work with either ROM since the China ROM also has the Google mobile services framework

The problem usually come from Google play. It may need to reinstall if the phone happen to have firmware upgrade.
