Do you mean Redmi Note 8 or Redmi Note 8 Pro?
As mentioned, refering to Note 8 128GB. Note 8 Pro 64GB/128GB already available at Mi Stores.

Most likely its only shop warranty.https://shopee.sg/product/178877065/6802017046?smtt=0.0.9
is this really a local warranty or shop warranty

If its shipped from overseas then it is an export set (NO local warranty).
Not sure why this seller advertise as '1 Year Local Warranty'.
At least Finer (China Seller) on Qoo10 states their 'Xiaomi One Year Warranty' is with CN Xiaomi and that they will bear the postage for sending defective/faulty units back to China.
Please take note that all local Xiaomi SG sets will have EIN sticker on the box.
That is only IMDA equipment certification sticker.![]()
Is this little sticker on top left consider the valid EIN sticker ?

I read on this forum that some Malaysian Xiaomi sets also have this sticker.
I've edited my original post to indicate that the EIN (Era International Network) Authenticity Stickers is from 1-Sep-2019 onwards.
I believe the Mi A3 was released in July this year?
As mentioned, IMDA sticker is just a certification label.Oh, I just got this image from the internet. I don't have this A3 phone.
My question is: is the IDMA a valid sticker ? Looks like something people can just easily forged type of sticker.

Last time we used this to verify local/export Xiaomi sets.
Criteria is simple: IMDA sticker and SEALED. The IMDA sticker is pasted under the plastic wrap on the box itself, not OVER the plastic seal.
You can also verify the phone IMEI on https://www.mi.com/global/shield#imei_en.
Local sets will show 'Delivery address: Singapore'.
The picture you showed above is a local set.
If you are buying from physical stores or Carousell, can just check this before purchase.
By the way, SG EIN sticker is different from MY EIN sticker ah. Can check Carousell for some samples on how the sticker looks like.
Hi ! Want to hear your opinions.
I have a Redmi 4x. Battery bloated and I'm thinking of getting a new phone. My needs are very simple and the 4x was already sufficient except for being slow after using close to 2 years.
I'm thinking of Redmi 8 but RMN8 Pro has NFC which means I can bring out fewer cards. So that's the incentive going RMN8 Pro. So would you get RM8 or RMN8 Pro in this situation ?
I also know the camera for Note is much better then the Redmi 8 but I'm ok with the RM camera.
Thanks.

NFC is overrated. Just go and get the Redmi Note 8. Redmi 8 is not much better than Redmi 4x in terms of performance.
That I disagree becos maybe of your usecase . You will need to understand the lifestyle of the user ex does the user use public transport daily or multiple times daily? Which will save him the double of EZ-Link card. Does he buy or shop in Malls and supermarkets? They will save him another hassle.
Does he eat lunch places accept nfc payment that will save him another hassle.
So you assume everyone one don’t need nfc is incorrect
Lastly did you ask him his budget maybe the nfc version is within his budget if so why not?
