I just got my Redmi Note 8 Pro 6/64 GB this afternoon. Plugged in my SanDisk Extreme micro SD 256 GB card to expand the storage. Just put in Red One Mobile SIM card and can be used to surf net.

I must say I am quite impressed. Seems to be more responsive than my Mi Pad 4 plus. And yes, it comes with global ROM with google. Real value for money.

Is there anyway to remove those xiaomi apps? I am uncomfortable using those apps.

The 64 MP camera does a good job of making images sharp. I use it like a digital zoom after cropping the photos. :s12:

google xiaomi adb fastboot tools and download from the github page. there are also instructions on that github, so just follow. no need to unlock bootloader or root.

Hi, I bought a china ROM note 8 pro, unlocked and flashed global stable miui 11. Can I check if I still get miui updates and is it safe to update? Or I have to flash the updated miui global stable every time via flashtool?

yes, safe to update, ota will come in as normal.

Yes you can. Currently you should get update to 11.0.6.0.
Your Google play should be still not certified status (Google play, setting, last item) due to phone is unlocked status.

I have just brought my Redmi Note 8 pro for some camera shooting.

TBH, kinda disappointed despite boasting impressive camera specs.

The 64 MP camera don't look really as sharp as I imagine. And under just slightly low light conditions (under a shelter), the images are very fuzzy despite in focus.

Has anyone find the camera disappointing? Any software updates to improve upon it?

I know what you mean. It isn't as sharp as you probably thought it would be

In addition, for image processing wise, I don't think it is as good as Huawei or Apple.

But then for the cost, I have to make compromises. :s13:

Other than Huawei?

Prefer a budget phone with good camera specs and running proper android global ROM.

A decent phone at cheap price would be Huawei P9 . I was using that previously and I tell you the camera is unparallel

That’s why megapixels isn’t everything, my 11 pro max has better pic in every way

Xiaomi is known to reduce the Mi Note camera capability via software tweaks to avoid cannabilising its top Mi series with the same camera hardware.
