mine loads and ask me to choose the country and language, after that it says 'your device did not pass our security check. Please check that you run a google trusted OS version and the device is not rooted.'

my 9S is barely 1 mth old and running on miui11.0.8

Upgrade to the latest? It should be 11.0.11.0

Could be due to the missing android security update.

I got mine from Lazada, so it's a local set. And my version has been there for a long time already.

What is your version? I saw there are Turk (9s) and India (9 pro but it's actually 9s) Roms but my global rom is different from theirs so no eta update yet.

Ya.. India version is QJWINXM and Turk is QJWTRXM. Both of which I've tried to use the update app but cannot update to MIUI 12 unless I unlock bootloader and fast boot flash it. I wondered if xiaomi have forgotten about the global 9s

I think need time to trickle down la. But Xiaomi seems to be doing quite a bang up job on updates. And actually given how people complain about battery drain, i think wiser to wait.

I am thinking of getting Redmi Note 9 Pro and am wondering about the fast charging.

Is it a MUST to use the charger than comes in the box? Thinking of using other charger for slow charging instead, cos want to prolong the battery life as long as possible (thinking of using the phone for at least 3 years).

I have never used the fast charger that came with the box. I have only used QC 3.0 chargers.

It's fast enough and roughly charges up 1% per minute.

Those people who really need to use the fast charger can't plan their life properly.

Remember in the old days, we used to charge our Nokia 3310 overnight? It would take four hours (?) for a full charge.

If you want to experience 33W fast charge you will need to use their USB cable and adaptor. Else normal fast charge from any charger will do.
