Cannot say here. Else all the pro tiong prc spies here will get offended.

Like that get offended then everything also can offend them liao. I actually don't want them banned lol. Dodgy or not, let the tech companies themselves decide, not like i have the resources to make the claim but choose to use or not it's my choice.

Having said that, some TikTok videos are funny af :s13:

Just tried out NFC payment earlier, really seamless. Just need to turn on NFC and unlock phone, and Google Pay does the rest after you add your card details. No need to even run the (default) app. Don't need to place very close to reader nor wait very long to process.

Just don't get the difference between Google Pay (that comes with the ROM; global?) and Google Pay Singapore. I have both installed, but it seems the normal GPay suffices. What's so special about GPay Singapore, anyone knows?

I'm using Note 9S. I have MIUI 12 on my Poco F2 Pro and i don't really like it as much. For one, i have this permanent notification that i set for internet speed from an app and ampere but for some reason the notification icons on the bar at the top keep switching places. I'm not sure if i've set anything different but it doesn't behave that way on MIUI 11 and i compare the 2 settings and no difference. So now i have to hide it from the bar and enable the build in one which only show 1 icon for both upload and download.

It's minor but important things like this that annoy me to no end cos i like knowing if my phone is uploading or downloading something.

That's true... Though I noticed my bus rides are listed as SimplyGo (Transitlink), but under the default GPay. Then the purchase from Fairprice is under GPay Singapore. Tbh I donno which one my phone is actually using, since both are technically GPay, and I only have one option for setting as default NFC app. :o:s22:
I haven't opt into the rewards, because it wants to know my transaction history etc. I kinda have some "misgivings" on sharing such things. Not sure worth it bo...

Is there an end to this reward thingy?
Don't think so, it's almost like a definitive feature over the usual GPay

Hmmm why would you mind them knowing what you buy at NTUC :D

I think they just want to make their data as accurate as possible.:o when you have Google service in android, it tracks our location.:o when you have gpay history embedded they will able to track and probably doing up some form of AI to predict your travel pattern and your buying habit then generate related advertisement and promotion to entice you to purchase further?:o

I wanted to say that I only want discount for where I go, then it kinda made sense haha:s13:

To conclude today's experience, I made all my payments (except for one meal) either via NFC or SGQR. Can tell that SGQR is only beginning to be rolled out, not every place have even in the same vicinity. NFC now is pretty much limited to those with credit/NETS terminals (retail, supermarkets...), and public transport (under SimplyGo; thru GPay).

You buy condoms at NTUC, next time all your ads sex toy condom related. This is how targeted ads work.:D

Would be good to recommend as accurately as possible :s13:

I don't have that much problem with Google having my data cos in one way or another they will get it anyway, i only hope they protect it cos it's the 3rd party that i don't trust. I think FB is the one with privacy issue. Whatsapp is the main concern cos it's supposed to be private communications. Maybe they haven't put ads in Whatsapp yet for this reason cos they don't know how to monetize it without having all your conversations plastered all over the net :s22:

I think those NETS terminals will not accept GPay? :o If can, means can only accept Debit card but not credit card? :o

Ooo good question, I guess I will never find out since my MC is debit.

I did find that scanning SGQR through the POSB bank app adds a SMS/token OTP step which I didn't expect ytd. I'll try NETSPay while scanning SGQRs next time.

On another note, 30W fast-charge is working again for me. I wonder what happened the last time. It does drop off to ~20W past 20+% still.

It should be regulating the charging cycle and peak, to protect the battery and not compromising its lifespan.:o

I checked the charge time, still ~80 minutes, about the same. So I guess there's no issues in the first place. :s13::s22:

Yeah, it does taper off after a certain point. Still, it's very fast for 5000+mAh. This kind of feature can only get from flagship years ago.
