In before someone getting 'confuse ray' by Xiaomi naming convention... :s22::s13:

Redmi Note 9
Redmi Note 9S (India: Redmi Note 9 Pro)
Redmi Note 9 Pro (India: Redmi Note 9 Pro Max)

So for RMN8, SG gets the NFC (for 1 variant).
For RMN9, IN gets the NFC.

Think if Xiaomi wants to built its brand, they have to be more consistent. If not, each time a new launch, it changes direction, then the continuity is broken and customer base and loyalty is not there.

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Note8 now... what's the experience like when switching to a top-end Redmi, like the Redmi Note 9 Pro or perhaps the 8 Pro since the 9 Pro just launched. Just exploring cos I am looking less expensive to use when my Note8 dies... Anyone tried using a third party stylus with the Redmi phones before? Any feedback? Thanks!
Top-end Redmi are the Redmi K series' phones.

Redmi K30 Pro is a very competitive phone with flagship specs at a competitive pricing. It is likely to arrive to the global market under the Poco F2 Pro naming.

Both RMN9 and RMN9P has NFC, but RNM9 only in certain markets from the event mentioned.

Only RMN9S no NFC.

Buy from Xiaomi's official store will be safer, especially now Xiaomi model naming made it very confusing.

Hi, I intended to buy additional Type-C cable for RMN9S. I wonder is it 3A or 5A cables?

Somehow i feel like i want a slow charge to preserve my battery. Wondered if anyone does that too?

Just use your old charger thats normally only 500mA or 1A.
Or use pc usb, also low current. Power bank also not high

No idea why but they love to give India models different naming schemes from other markets, if not for that, the naming scheme for their models are consistent globally. But I do agree this Note 9 series is taking confusion to next level.

Indian Redmi Note 9 Pro = Global Redmi Note 9S
Indian Redmi Note 9 Pro Max = Global Redmi Note 9 Pro.
Global Redmi Note 9 = China Redmi 10X

:s22:
:s13:

wah faint...always got to go through this confusion lol

Thanks... but those phones don't have micro-SD card slots right? I need a large memory card...

There is actually no confusion... it's just that Singaporeans are an impatient lot and want to get their hands on the latest phones before they are released in our market... so they want to buy whatever is out there, whether it an India or China launched phone... then complain it's confusing... if you stick to buying the phones from Singapore official Xiaomi retailers, then the naming is pretty standard... and that's the global international model...

China & India are huge markets... prioritizing these markets with exclusive models makes economic sense since they cater for the specific demographics of those huge billion people market... Singapore's marketing so tiny, what we buy probably doesn't even make a dent in Xiaomi's figures for one state or province in India or China... so we just got to take whatever is thrown at us lor... that's the reality...

Xiaomi won't be as successful as it is today if they don't know what they're doing... they know what they're doing and they're very good at it...

Agreed. These days I only focused on getting only from SG official retailer offering manufacturer warranty.

Redmi K30 4G does support micro SD card up to 256GB, though not too sure if Xiaomi intends to bring it in to Singapore.
