CDC vs PDI

Which is better?

Should we learn from school or private instructor.

I am actually already a member in cdc and have quite a nos of manual lessons, quit and engage pdi auto and now seem like meeting bo chap pdi who only want to pass time.

Being new in the driving world, anyone who has gone thru pls adv shd i :

1) change to another auto pdi
(do not know who else, need some recommendation)

2) go back school for fresh auto lesson
(have to be in one team cos do not want to get different instructor each lesson)

PS i am a slow learner too

I know another instructor for manual. But is my friend instructor not mine. The instructor will give them a book that he created himself. The book got write down with drawing about everything in circuit how to do and outside what to do. My 2 friends learn from him. 1 1st time pass and 1 4th times still fail. The book actually quite helpful. Don't learn auto you might regret. If you want that instructor with book contract I can give you. But I don't know anything about him cos I not his student

It depends on what you really want.
PDI is cheaper by half the price for school. And more flexible timing as you can negotiate with the instructor.
I am currently learning auto from Mr Loy. He's contact is 96259533. At CDC.
He's rates are reasonable and I found him through the test results, he's passing rate is consider average. (http://driving-in-singapore.spf.gov.sg/services/driving_in_singapore/services/private.html)
So far I've had close to 15 lessons with him, he goes by the route for each lessons. There's total of 12 routes but you will be tested only 1 of it on your practical test itself. So he patiently teaches you the rules and blind spots to check. Then the rest is parking and circuit before your test date.
So far he's been really good in my opinion and not those kind of chi ko pei, or want to waste your money/time instructor.
Everyone can try consider him. :)

For this 15 lessons, he would ask me to drive the main road. For our actual test, the tester will choose a route between the 12 different routes. So roughly for the first 12 lessons, is to just drive around, meanwhile he will teach you all the checking of blind spots, turn left right, u turn, direction change, changing of lanes. Sounds easy, but its not easy, as you turn left/right, you have to know which blind spot to check, and not just any how turn your head. the tester will deduct points if you check wrong blind spot too. after you're familiar and he thinks you're ready, the last few lessons he will teach parking. vertical first, then parallel. he mention his students roughly took 20 lessons before going into the circuit. but i'm a fast learner, so i learn everything within roughly 15 lesson. then he booked 5 lessons in the circuit before my test date. I've been with this instructor for 2 months, once i passed my fft(on july), i went straight to book my practical, which is 2 months later(on sept). so i force myself to learn with him at least twice a week. it depends on how keen you are, and your timing and your test date on how long you want to stretch your learning process.
you can choose to take 1hr or 1.5hr per lesson, his rate is $32/hr, $48/1.5hr.

Any recommendations for PDI near Bedok

Hi Folks,

Want to get my Class 3 Licence in Singapore. Know driving but unable to convert my license from my home country as the license is issued after I came to singapore.

I know driving very well so do not want to go through lessons as it would be waste of money and time. Need a PDI who can assist to book the Practical test and few circuit lessons. Thanks.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

so u mean u have already cancelled your CDC school account ? How many manual lessons did you take with the school before cancelling?

if you have already cancelled your account and now want to go back to school to learn auto when you have taken manual lessons before, you will have to START ALL over from scratch again.

Just as there are many bo chap PDIs out there, there are equally as much decent and responsible ones. You just need to do your own research and homework instead of asking ppl. the best is still to ask recommendations from your friends whom have learnt from PDIs before
