I kena kantong license last time. now i am ready to take back my license.

Any PDI to intro for YISHUN area? I sure pass so its something to up their passing rates.

Only thing is last time i learn auto. Now i wan to learn manual since theres time for me; my FTT is Jan 20th. So TP would probably be in Feb/Mar. I have plenty of time to learn about the clutch system..

So, any recommendation?

edit: I dont need a good instructor, just need a cheap one

I just want to share some points about my two PDIs. Why two PDIs? Because the first PDI is really greedy, she wants to make more money from me. That's why I quickly changed a new PDI.

Let me discuss my first PDI first. She is Mdm Goh, her phone number is 91052830. She is teaching in the area of BBDC. She asked for S$60 for registration. I asked why she asked $60, but the others ask only $50. She said she always charged $60. From the small flip card she gave, I saw she crossed the $50 and wrote $60 by hand.

Actually, I know the basic skills of driving. I know I am a fast learners. But she alwasy told me I was not good enough to drive. Actually her teaching is really confused. Sometimes she told me do this first, then next day she said do that first. I have learned total 13 lessons, then I asked her to register for the practical test, she said my skill is not good enough to register. Because at that moment, she has not enough students to learn with her, she asked me to learn 3 lessons every week. She still doesn't want me to register the practical test. So I quit from her. Otherwise, I waste more time and more moeny on her, but get to nowhere. Her face is really very thick, she only looks at money, not quality of teaching.

The 2nd PDI is much better than the first PDI. I found his phone number in this forum. But the only problem for him is that during the learning, he will control not only the brake, but also the clutch from his seat. When I switch the gears, he will control the clutch releasing speed. So I won't have the feeling how to control the clutch with his car. But the other aspects, he is good. He knows what to pay attention during the test. He asked me to register immediately after the first lesson.

Good luck every learner. If you find the PDI is too bad, it is better that you change another one immediately. Don't waste time and money.

I'm looking for private instructor as well...pickup and drop off. Class 3 lessons, only free on Friday evenings and weekend mornings....
Already look at pdireviews.com, almost found mr.leong...but I don't understand why ppl would quote $34/hr then tell u $51 the day before lesson start, becos the lesson is 90min?? Why can't he say $51 90min in the 1st place? Lost trust when things like this happen. So can someone please recommend?

coz its sounds cheaper to say by hour. and if you have researched enough most PDIs go by 90 mins anyway

Not true, my PDI by default teach 1 hour per lesson. Anyway yes /hour is easier to calculate in general, it is like most $1/apple but most people with a bigger stomach eat 1.5 apples.

ok cos I find 1 hr sometime really like pointless. but usually I find those quote per hour one, they willing to teach per hour also..just that the time may be harder to accommodate if most of his students are 90 mins.. so I don't know what is the big fuss over it. if lose trust over this small issue.. then sure gonna have a difficult time learning from PDI.. cos some of them 90 min lesson but end 5-10mins earlier sometime, ask u stop in the middle of lesson for 5 mins for them to make phone call to arrange meeting with other students, etc,etc .. give n take bah

Just wanna recommend my PI.

Just passed TP yesterday on first try. (18 demerit points, but whatever, a pass is a pass. Anyways according to my PI, the tester is one of the strictest ones lol)

PI's details:

Mr Tay (otherwise known as David)
His company is called David Driving Tuition

He teaches auto, picks up from west mall at bukit batok.
His wife teaches manual, but i think she teaches in the northern/eastern side.

Rates are 36/hr, parking lessons done at MSCP with an additional 18bucks
Circuit lessons are 36 + 44.
Vehicle rental for test is 250

Note that his rates are the same regardless of day and time, and he usually teaches in 1 hour slots.

According to him he has been teaching for over 30years, and i think that's quite believable given how old he is. His car is quite new, barely half a year old i think. If his car is sent for repairs/maintenance, he has a backup car that's slightly older, but still pretty good. In fact that car might be newer than most PIs' cars i've seen on the road.

Despite his age he is very quick and observant with how you drive and handle the car and is never afraid to point it out/nag at you or even scold you. His nagging is sometimes hard to tolerate but when you go for the test you will remember what he say and do things properly.

He knows all the tips for circuit. In fact i only had about 3hours circuit training in total and i managed to pass on my first try.

His style is probably kinda unorthodox for those people learning to 'really' drive, as in to learn to judge all the distances etc and park without guides. But then we're all in this to get a license first, then you can slowly learn all that you wanna learn with experience. I think the 'orthodox' way can only be learnt through experience anyway.

His contact number is: 82382904
Just tell him you were recommended by an NSF that passed with 18points on 26/12/14 haha.

oh ya, mine will end like 5-10 mins earlier so I usually take 1.5 hrs, faster finish better and I needed to travel quite a bit to the pick up point so might as well take 1.5hrs. the 5-10 mins earlier ending depends, some times is to go toilet, buy food if near the meals time.
