It is hard to do it here with the land scarcity. The stress of making enough money to cover the rental and operating expenses will outgrow any satisfaction you might get from doing that. :frown:
yes, rental is a killer, i have the idea of just doing a small business from morning to 3pm with selling West + East Coffees/Teas and light morning food like Rotis ( egg mayo, tuna, ham cheese) 😌 😌 😌

partner will be the one taking order and me is the one preparing the drinks and rotis( or my grand kids)
in the ideal world that is my end game but sadly is not :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Maybe have to check out the home-based cafe business model.

Propaganda to influence people to keep working. Xiao eh find me 1 person who is "disoriented" after retiring I can easily find another 1000 sinkies who ready to retire today and jiak hong if finances permit.

:vijayadmin:

At the same time, work can also be a genuine source of purpose.

Many teachers, healthcare workers, engineers, business owners and parents derive meaning from the impact they create through their work.

Unfortunately this is the exception and not the norm.

The problem with the modern economy is work is now highly specialised, workers tend to not see the fruits of their labour, we are just cogs in the machinery.

I had what many would consider a "nice career" but I chose to retire last year because I dun need the money from my job anymore. Never looked back, never missed my job and all the toxic office politics that came with it.

Its been nearly 2 years, I spend most of my time reading, traveling and I get infinitely more satisfaction, meaning and purpose from volunteering.

My religion says 人生就是修行
Uni professional says 人的一生就是玩

there are some that says that life is about gaining new experiences, be it good or bad. I quite believe in this. because different thinking / religions has different take on good and bad. only experiences are more objective. so go out there and live new experiences instead of just lay there and do the same things day in and out.

If I retire, I want to try double workout sessions. Morning/evening runs, with gym in between some of the days.

Yeah it depends, for me, complete retirement makes the most sense since I want to build my life around sports. Primarily doing full time running
May not necessarily improve health and longevity.

@Dr.Vijay how to create business account in edmw and run ads? :(:(:(
Pay money lah.

Yeah I get what you mean, but I am not so interested in longevity, I want performance. If the goal is longevity, then the standard 150 minutes of vigorous activity per week is more than sufficient

In pursuit of performance, you must balance the risks of injury also.

You know as you age, your body is likely to degrade. Just a matter of rate of degradation.
