I could retire.

But I notice tech might exponentially increase life expectancy. Immortal also possible.

Today someone at 60 plus, feels like 50 plus 2 decades ago.
In the near future, at 80 plus, may still feel like 50 plus too.

Tech is not going to just extend the life, it should keep you enabled for longer.

Humans are rapidly being augmented by AI, efficiency is getting boosted, capabilities extended. But important end decisions are still in the hands of humans.

A 20 yo vs a 40 yo, difference is the depth of analysis is different. The young has the vitality but the old has the experience. You can't improve AI or make better calculated risk assessments with your vitality.

Meaning, in the new age, the old could be valued again. I have a strong feeling that education will be changed alot and re-education may one day be a norm.

So at 40s, instead of wind down.
I went to get a new diploma from Singapore poly, and now doing a degree in data which I think will be important. :o
you think too much.
tech is killing people faster.

Wa satki Featured Sponsor siol...

We often prepare financially for retirement, but what about the sense of purpose and routine that work gives us?
Definitely not the mindset of the 躺平 gang... Work is just for money and survival. Once free, is go ahead and carry out their personal activities. Rinse and repeat. No attachment to work or career, since they didn't even want to participate in it in the first place.

Retirement means regain control of your time, your life.
When one is employed, one text message or phone call is usually all it takes for your job to take control over you.

I retired but return to work part time 🤣
Nice to be able to be useful😌
Same here, but I dun feel useful at work, it is just to sell my time for money.
I feel useful volunteering in temple, do part time is just to earn some money from WIS, so hard to get money from govt 🥴

how do i say it.....

it is not as fulfilling as those oldie in japan who runs a restaurant, they do it because they enjoy it, they love their role in life, is a form of being useful to society 😌
i looking at them chatting with the people, offer advices, serving food, does make me think about what life is truly 😌
