I brought both my YouTrip and Revolut cards when I went to Australia.

Before I reached Australia, I checked the rates of both cards and almost daily Revolut rate was much better. Hence I exchanged SGD 5000 to AUD which was the limit for the free version. The Revolut Customer Service contacted me and gave me some cashback benefits for this exchange which was really good.

Good to exchange when the rate is high as Revolut charges extra 1% on weekends.

The YouTrip card I brought along as well to be spent if my SGD 5000 in Revolut was fully utilised.

When I reached Australia I withdrew some AUD cash from Revolut card, can withdraw up to SGD 350 at no extra cost. Easy to find ATMs in Sydney CBD area where I stayed for 2 weeks. Almost everything in Sydney is cashless so very little cash is needed. I only withdrew AUD 150. I used cash if there is a surcharge for cards at restaurants.

Overall, I mostly used my Revolut card with ease and enjoyed the better rates than YouTrip which was my backup card.

Hope my sharing helps.
so u spent all 5k ?
not bad that you know how much you will spend for the trip, which I am normally clueless unless for big ticket item.

thus, amaze linking to credit card still works better for my case...+ youtrip for free withdrawal..

Actually I needed more than 5K... The last leg of my trip I used Booking.com to book my hotel for 2 days which had some cash back rebate if I used my YouTrip card. So I used the YouTrip card to enjoy cashback. That was the only time I used YouTrip.

For Revolut card, I had AUD 100 balance. I just convert back to SGD and transferred the amount to my DBS bank account. A few weeks later, the Airport detax came in but currency SGD. I transferred the few hundred dollars back to my DBS bank account too.

When I was in Sydney, YouTrip still charged $5 for cash withdrawal which I know recently they changed which is similar to Revolut.

Also, one thing I don't really like about YouTrip is the balance amount cannot be transferred back to my local bank account unlike Revolut. I received about $300 rebate from Booking.com for my hotel stay and have to use YouTrip card to spend the money. Cannot transfer back to bank account which is not so good about YouTrip.

Just my experience.

Hello all! Have some leftover cash in my Revolut card after my recent Perth trip. Can I transfer the leftover back to my credit card or withdraw the leftover amount via ATM?

Do u think the rates better than trust card?

For Malaysia and Japan, so far i tested, both Revolut n YouTrip (both MasterCard) give better FX rate than Trust.

For Msia, 24 May:
Trust = 3.362
YouTrip = 3.392
Revolut = 3.3928
Spot = around 3.40x

Thanks so much. So I just pump sgd into revolute then they do a conversion right? Actually don’t really need to keep foreign currency inside the wallet.

Strange why ppl still change currency and keep in wallet?
To lock in the "low" rates.

I exchanged sgd to yen last year when it's low for Japan trip last month but end up yen get even weaker lol.. But I did a few exchange end up avg 1:100 when it's was ard 1:104-106 during my trip..

Just exchanged again last week for my Japan trip next year 1:105.6 will exchange more if Yen continue to weaken.
