Rimowa in Germany

Any shops to recommend? So far I've only heard 2 in Frankfurt, the one at the airport and Werth & Werth near Romer. Any other shops that offer better deals?

Yes, koffer. You can get it shipped but you wont be able to claim the tax on it.

at the kind of prices rimowa commands i'd expect it to be crafted out of solid gold...

you got it wrong, locally, titanium is also more expensive than black

In europe, Gold (aka Titanium) & Black (aka Stealth) are retailing at same price

There used to be a luggage shop (not the Lufthansa one) in Frankfurt airport that gives full tax refund. Not sure if it's still there or moved though. Though the range not as huge as normal shops.
If I remember correctly the difference between sizes is not a lot, around 20-30 eur per size up or down.
But really worth getting in Germany compare to SG.

Got my salsa 29" at ~380 eur pretax I think.
SG selling ~ 1000sgd.

Turns out that almost all the shops offer Rimowa and its retail EUR prices. It's still cheaper compared to SG but there are no further discounts, even though you offer to pay cash. Lots of China tourists there who literally grab as much as they can carry, and regardless of color too. If you can't find the color you want in Germany, other neighboring countries also offer more or less the same pricing.

Imagine eco baggage weight is normally 23 kg, if 7 kg already gone to luggage, only left 16 kg for your items.

Worst if you travel budget airline/ domestic airline.

I took SQ multi City trip back. Frankfurt is my departure city. Now im thinking of just getting it in Copenhagen. I can make it that from Sweden i take a flight to Copenhagen enroute to Frankfurt. Theres an arrangement like this for SQ. So.. that gives me few hrs to get the Rimowa in Copenhagen n do my.tax clearance plus lesser.ppl. this is then the real transit.

If you will be at Frankfurt airport, can you do me a favour and check if the luggage shop that sells Rimowa is still there - it's outside customs? It's a generic bag shop (not the Luthansa ones), and the sales person will offer full refund of the VAT.
