RoboCop is recommissioned!

[Carnage]

From hollywoodreporter.com:

Hugh Laurieis in negotiations to play the villain in Robocop, MGM and Sony’s remake of the classic 1987 sci-fi action movie.

Gary Oldman already has been cast as his scientist-creator and Samuel L. Jackson is playing a media mogul.

Laurie will play the evil and ultra-rich CEO of Omnicorp, the company that makes Robocop.

Oldman and Jackson? Drooling already!

My favorite character in Robocop.

ED209

It is not too futuristic at the same time still very plausible for today's technology.

a cute rendering from a 3D site i sometimes visit :

I think jackson is overexposed in hero movies ...

What the frak is this?!!
Masked Rider?
One word for this movie - doomed.
which is a good thing - dont tarnish classic movies. (2010 "The Thing" ?)

want to know why the original movie's design was a classic?
its because of this man - Rob Bottin
the alien in 1982 "The Thing", "The Howling", "Total Recall" - he did all that.
apparently - he's off Hollywood radar since 2002.

Oh my what a piece of crap.

[Jerry007]

I'm not at all surprised that this remake will be crappy given how the slew of remakes have performed lately.

Goodness it's like 1 year to release and I can imagine it flopping big-time. Machiam parody now.. WHO MAKES ALL THESE DECISIONS?

It's like they do a trend board of movies and apply G.I Joe and Transformers.

[suchaloser]

Why they got to make it so complicated

[Smartypants]

I just hope this ends Hollywood's fascination with remakes.

What have they done! This is not Transformers!

They have destroyed my cute ED209. It was clumsy. It was cute. It didn't work. I love it!
