DO NOT ...................go for root canal............

the guy who came up with this procedure realized the danger and spent the rest of his career trying to get the procedure banned...........

the tooth is dead after root canal..........and all the micro capillaries will harbour dangerous bacteria..........resulting in cancer or heart disease or other chronic illnesses..........

Yeah if want to let endodontist perform RC, at least $1200 and more experienced one maybe $1800. Tomorrow I go make mouthguard first cos all dentists told me cracked tooth is due to grinding. Still deciding if to do crowning and if still pain, then do RC and crowning.

pls pls pls pls RC then crowning. do not crown without RC...

wait u crown liao then issue come back then have to damage the new crown to RC and you have to waste money to crown again!:(

Mine is molar tooth. Got referral from Unitycare to an external endodontist and was quoted $1150. Mine is feeling pain when biting but endodontist said she cannot see how deep is crackline if never do RC.

I also got referred for RC treatment from Unitycare, appointment in a few days time. May I ask which endodontist u got referred to? Any issues after treatment?

Did my crowning in 2014. It all started when I felt a sensation when I bite, visited my dentist, did a few tests by biting and releasing a cotton pad, and turns out dentist suspected that my molar cracked as it is not visible.

was presented with 2 options.
1) just do crown and see how it goes, so that the tooth is still "alive". if still pain then perform a RC by drilling through the crown.
2) RC then crown.

dentist felt that option 1 is a better choice so that my tooth is not dead. didnt have much money as I was still a uni student back then so I went for option 1. I think I paid $650+ for my porcelain crown (lowest tier after gold and CEREC). all is well until i felt a sensation on another tooth around 1 year later. went back to dentist and he suspected that I grind my teeth at night. made a mouth guard, wore it every night since then, and everything is ok now.

tldr; wear a mouth guard if you grind your teeth at night, it will save you tons of $$.

You had exactly the same case as mine but I haven decide which clinic to do CEREC crowning. Realised standard pricing is at least $1250 onwards. Already gotten my mouthguard at $300. Is your mouthguard cover all the teeth?

Nope, my dentist recommended me to get the one that only covers top/front 6 teeth. Apparently it is more comfy than the one that covers the whole set of teeth, but it is more expensive. I think it cost me around $600 back in 2016!

Yeah I heard from my Dentist that your type is more expensive. Mine is totally not comfortable though is done via 3D scanning. Few dentists said my molars grinded till flat.

Mind sharing which clinic you done crowning and mouthguard? Is mouthguard done by mould? Also, are you still wearing it today? Heard every 1-2 years need to change new mouthguard.

Where do you got quotation for cerec porcelain crown for 1250? Thats expensive.
I just did for 1070 (incl gst) for molar this month. Of course haven't include root canal and x-ray etc.

Dental Designs? Which clinic did you do for 1070? Why never choose zirconia for molar?
