11 is better. trust me.

i wrote a summary @ another thread. forget where le.

this one is just extract the files can play le. same what. no need install.

at the pc thread.

For those who want to know what the game is like, i can summarise it as below:

U have absolutely no control in the game. as a ruler u can only assign 2 tasks and afterwhich all tasks are to be automated/recommended by your military/interior advisers and chief general. So if u want to concentrate on upgrading the quality of spear infantry in your city, u can't becuz ur general thinks that going for horsemen is better.

u do not recruit or hire troops in the game. instead, it is dependent on your population of the city. movement of troops is removed in the game. if ur troops are from a certain city, they will go back to that certain city.

combat is similar to 12 with a few changes. units can scale wall with the ladder upgrade or convert to a ram when near the city gate. abilities are tagged to characters just like sangotaisen in the arcades.

something new is the interpersonal relationships in the game. with better relationships u can activate certain traits in combat or improved efficiency in upgrading your cities when a friendly officer assists u.

overall, the game is quite brain dead. just think of it as FF13 whereby u keep pressing autocombat.

They should not screw around with the gameplay anymore, just make the ruler version. That's what made them popular.

Those who wants to play RPG, go play dynasty warriors empire or the hack and slash.

Unless nt enuff troops to start with.. micro manage abit man! Max troops n deploy counter units then battle will be more manageable :D
Problem was that Cao Cao already had the whole central Plains to his disposal, so when I try to whack one of the town within a few days tons of reinforcement will arrive.. Damn pek Chek one sia

based on his review, doesn't seems like a strategy game. more like a game to milk fans money.

it's not a strategy game, more like rpg. heck i even think 12 is way better than 13 considering the reviews for 12. at least i had the option to think about how to progress my nation in 12. in 13, sorry but u are only allowed 2 frickin moves. 2! what a joke.

combat is a human wave sticking their faces near each other to try and outlast. and the occasional duel which u cannot issue commands to other than yourself.

Koei rotate their ROTK gameplay. 1 RPG, 1 strategy. If have 14, will be strategy again. I think they started this RPG at 8 if I remember correctly.

are you able to control or make the chief general do what you want or can only control the ruler with the 2 moves?

u can make them do whatever with the 2 moves but u still do not have the freedom to maximize your moves. if u only issue commands to other officers on the 2 moves, ur ruler got nothing to do except to search, hold banquets or go visit other officers. that is not exactly what pple who are heavy on strategy want.

so 11 is strategy?

11 is considered ok but the strategy part is quite lacking. the construction of traps, towers is considered 'strategic' placements. the only strategy in 11 is when the computer attacks u, use ur int officers in a city installed with a strategy centre to attack their security. this reduces the loyalty of their outfield officers which can be recruited to defect.

Like that say means not worth buying already. Wanna play RPG I might as well play dynasty warrior.

edit: I mean rotk 13.
