FFVX is a game that is very optimized for Nvidia. This is evident in the performance benchmark and also the level of cooporation with Nvidia for DLSS and RT.

Anyway in the case of the Powercolor RX 5700XT, I don't think it is a driver issue. It could be a card specific issue, or may be the card is already overclocked. So the room for further OC is gone.

mine has been having problems since day 1 about 6 months ago. Even the latest driver update cannot fully solve the problem. First and last time trying AMD. :(

Got it last October.... as a early adopter "guinea pig" cannot imagine how i survived all the crashes everyday, till now its every 1 crash every 2weeks... improved oredi....:s13:

You need to do a clean uninstall, and reinstall and try not to oc....
If still cannot then a clean slate os reset.... as the last resorts

Never had these issues with nvidia, so its the last time i'm getting a radeon....full stop!

AMD

GPU
CPU

Both Stats Good. BenchMark Good.

Use already headache. need spend time update, patch.

I rather buy Intel + Nvidia.

Less value for money less headache.

i think Time spend to troubleshoot already overhead cost to buying value to product price.

AMD's encoder support e.g. in OBS is also problematic.

So immediately they already lose market from the streamers/twitchers/influenzas. And that is one rich market.

Bought a 5700 XT during November 2019. Nothing but a nightmarish experience. I have used DDU almost every single day and black screen crashes never stops. Sold it at a loss and bought a 2070 Super during January this year. It is a way better experience and I'll never look back!

The design aesthetic seems nice though. Like xfx one, all black...

Any rtx with similar or better aesthetic?

I sold away the RX 5700XT because I feel my existing GTX 1080Ti is still better in terms of performance. Did not expect the stability to be as bad as you folks mentioned. At least on a simple Vega 8 in the Ryzen 5 2500U, I don't have any issues with driver stability even in games. In fact it was the opposite where I am facing stuttering issues in Netflix with my GTX 1080TI, while it was running smoothly with the Vega 8.

Still remember 10 years ago I wanted to save money and went with AMD/ATI. End up get BSOD watching YouTube.

Computer took extra 20s to bootup due to loading the drivers.

Looks like nothing much has changed
