Becuz Nvidia better in driver ?

i have both nvidia and amd cards, didnt run into much driver issues for both~

a 16gb vram card would for sure last longer into the future compared to a 8gb~

its not bias for certain brand or anything, i also totally wouldnt even consider 8gb version of the 9060xt either

intel arc B580 seems to be still behind both the amd and nvidia cards and the cost savings isnt also that much

That's why if I were you just upgrade the GPU will do.
I will go for Nvidia RTX 5060 not because of driver but because of Nvidia supported games are much more
than AMD.

AMD drivers have became very stable all these years but game support wise Nvidia is still better
than AMD.

subnautica 2 also no fsr atm......but 8gb very hard to swallow

current pricing for 5060 is very similar to 9060xt 16gb at over $500, not a good deal with that 8gb vram which is already obsolete. a barely acceptable nvidia alternative would be the 5050 which i see hovering slightly over $400, which still offers a pretty decent 40-50% performance gain over the 2060 while not losing any of the measly 8gb vram; performance per dollar is roughly in line with the 5060. though at this point u might as well get a used 4060 which is very similar to the 5050 but can be had around $300, which is where 8gb cards should cost, if u are lucky can get one with warranty still remaining. from what i saw briefly on youtube, both the 4060 and 5050 can average ~60fps at 1440p in subnautica 2 medium graphics with dlss.

her monitor is 1080p but planning to get a cheap 1440p for her, saw below 300 over shopee 31.5"
at 1440p main load should be on gpu rite?
9060xt should perform way better than the current 2060 ba?

i still have a spare pair of 16gb ddr5 ram on hand, but dun really wanna upgrade too much on her rig as in a new cpu+mb on top of the gpu+display
afterall, shes only 8yo...

there should be quite a substantial gain just going from rtx2060 to 9060xt no?

I tik u stick back to 1080p. no point using 1440p with a 9600XT which will strain more on the GPU.(lower FPS)
For 1440p, I recommend RTX 5070 n above. If the game support FG, it will be better.
And u need to check the PSU whether can handle 9600XT or higher GPU or not.

Yes, recommend three fans for rx7800xt.
Rx5700xt which I use before, that generation runs hot on load.
There are certain rx5700xt with three fans.
Just hope your rx5700xt is not the asrock challenger one cuz that one the cooler is weak.

mine is only 2 fans pulse sapphire... i dont think i can fit 3 fans gpu for my case

Both 5060 / 9060xt also not suitable for 2k AAA max settings. Those card are meant for 1080p/ 2k mid -high only , thats why 8vs 16gb advantage not that obvious ba

Absolutely disagree. The 9060xt is absolutely a 1440p card. Especially for a game like Subnautica 2 where you probably get sub 100 fps which is definitely enough because it's not a competitive fps. Even for competitive fps easy to run games like cs2, it still gives you plenty of frames.

If you're referring to newer competitive games like say marvel rivals(which isnt a fps btw but frames are still important), you can get above 100-120 fps.

I previously compared it to Rx 7700 xt. To be more accurate, it's rester performance of 7700 xt and better rt performance than 7800 xt. And 7700 xt is 100% marketed as a 1440p card which is why is has 12gb of VRAM.

Also in terms of performance, the 9060 xt is much more similar to the 5060 ti, not 5060. They trade blows.

On max settings, if you're talking about the absolutely latest and greatest AAA games with RT path tracing enabled, let's be realistic here, all 60 series cards from either brand won't be able to play it smoothly here. Probably 30fps if you're lucky and that's with upscaling.

So a more realistic target would probably be max graphics + low - mid RT + upscaling which would hit my target frames I mentioned above at 2k. Add frame gen if desired and if you hit at least 60 frames. VRAM absolutely matters then.

Spec wise seems to be the same. You should check if the are other things like internal speaker.

Other than that, the question is which company is the one making their display panels. Probably both got from the same display panel manufacturer.

Edit; Check warranty duration and T&C as well.
