Temperatures are ok.

Based on HW Monitor from the CPUZ webpage, all 4 cores are at 40 - 60 degrees Celsius under normal use. The average is in the 40 - 45 degrees Celsius range for the CPU.

HDD is at 38+ degrees Celsius

GTX460M is at 37-40 degrees Celsius

Havent run any benchmarks or gaming yet.

Does anyone know how long Mucro and Cubehub have been in existence? Who was the 1st store?

3 working days is too long of a wait. BTW, do you know of any store that helps paste matte screen protector on the monitor?

I suppose you can go to the Mac shops; I'm sure their 17" matte screen protectors can be trimmed to fit your display and you should be able to have their staff stick it on for you FOC

I am interested in the NP8170 and i need more info on it from users who have this model. How is the overall build quality of the laptop? Is it sturdy and solid or rather flimsy. Does the keyboard flex alot like alienware models or never at all? Is cooling ever an issue at all? Is it hard to view anything from the screen under direct sunlight? Will there be any sandy bridge issue if i purchase one now? Thanks in advance...

I don't think you will have any Sandy Bridge problem at all because all currently shipping Sager are already using the revised chipset.

I'm using the Sager NP8130 now and from my experience, the keyboard doesn't flex at all and it's quite springy. Build quality wise, my Sager NP8130 feels rather solid and I love the black plastic; it gives a rough and rugged impression for a plastic construction.

Cooling wise is okay to as it keeps my CPU and GPU in the 40s - 60s.

Not sure about the screen as my Sager NP8130 is a matte screen.

I think it's better if you buy your Sager in North America since they probably offer more customization offers and the price may also be cheaper since you don't have to freight over the vast oceans. I bought mine Sager from Mucro, it's not too bad for their service. Sgcubehubs has better service but it's more expensive

Also, if I'm not wrong, Muco and Sgcubehub in SG offers Sager warranties that are also valid in the US so if your Sager develops problems here in SG, our local resellers should still be able to service your Sager for you. BUT you better check with Mucro and Sgcubehub about this first.

I'm not certain whether SG cubehubs have demo sets; I've been to their store once and it looks rather bare so I doubt you'll find a Sager demo set in there BUT no harm asking.

To answer your question on whether the GTX 460M can run new 2011 games at high settings; I'm not certain but I'm playing Medal of Honor now and I can only run at medium quality on 1900 X 720 (if i'm correct)... So for Medal of Honor 2011, we can't run at high quality at Full HD resolution.

Hope this observation of mine helps

PS: If you want to game at fantastic resolutions, desktops are still the way to go in my opinion

just called sg cubehub and they said they do not have any demo sets. I guess if i wan to run at high quality i must get at least GTX 485 then but the price diff is

i admit for gaming desktop is still irreplacable but i have no choice as i am always travelling overseas for work

Do SSDs help to increase the FPS? If they do, can also put a SSD in. Mucro Asia sells SSDs so they can help you to install the SSD in when your Sager arrives.

It's not a stupid question.Playable depends on individual, but generally reviews have it as avg FPS of 30 and above.

Some players might find it playable at 15, others refuse to touch anything below 30. If it consistently stays between 40-60, you should be playing fine. Generally anything about 60 FPS is very decent.

PS, not possible for you to be running 1900 x 720 resolution.

SSDs mostly just help with loading time in games. That's pretty much it.

Last I checked, Sager did not recognise cubehub as an official seller, but that was a while ago.

Also even if they do recognise cubehub, it does not mean that Sager = Cubehub. Cubehub is simply a reseller. That's all.

Generally <40fps does not mean poor performance. It depends on what game u r playing and at which point of gameplay the fps derive from ie: wow in a raiding environment or fps games with explosion going out all over the place. As long as overall gameplay feels smooth without any noticeable jerkyness or frame spikes will indicate that fps is playable...

Missed your post earlier today so I'm answering it now.

No, I did not buy the screen insurance as the laptop would have cost beyond my budget. I'm not sure about the consequences of not buying this insurance but I suppose that if the screen does spoil, you have to pay.

Better that you check with Mucro or Cubehub.

Oh and thanks for the FPS comments and how SSDs impact game performance guys; now I have a better understanding of FPS.

Doesn't it state on their site that we should allow up to 21 days for them to build and test the system? Or did you pay for a rush order?

From what I've read cubehub doesn't seem as prompt in delivering orders but I'm not too sure.. I want to order an 8150 too and am currently torn between cubehub and mucro.

Yea i read that as well. Given the sandy bridge debacle i understand why it's taking so long..but the anticipation is killing me!

I think both Cubehub and Mucro are fine for Sager orders. Just see who gives you a better price.

Oh and in case you don't already know, Sager laptops purchased from Mucro will now be sent back to the US if major repairs are required; however, no details were given for minor repairs. So do be aware of this even as you choose your Sager seller.

I also think there's a long queue over at Sager computers now so whether you place through Mucro or Cubehub you probably have to wait. My Sager NP8130 is here most likely due to the fact that my order was placed way back in early February.

But if you want to order other brands such as Asus and MSI, you're better off ordering from Cubehub since they appear to have a better supplier than Mucro (although the cost is more).

Just want to update everyone regarding the ordering timespan of Sager notebook. Look like about approx.one month delay due to the Sandy Bridge problem.

Thanks for the update..i ordered in mid feb, was told to expect delivery by mid March. However i cancelled my order ( i changed the GTX 460M to a 485M. ). Reordered 28 Feb..was told Early April.

So yea, it should take abt a month!
