Looks like my worry about the insufficient RAM is quite justified >.< Usually my dad opens all sorts of apps at once i.e. youtube, wechat, whatsapp, chrome etc etc and I think that's bound to hang the phone/force close apps >.<

Guess I'll wait a bit more till SITEX and see if the price drops further. If not I'll probably go for the Note 4

Light apps like those chat apps should be no issue. Ram hogging apps like youtube, web pages with multiple images, photos editing software prove to be the killer.

Aw well on the bright side the ram management does provide a very smooth UI on the hindsight. Just that gotta be careful which app will make your data bleed.

The Note 4 @ $6XX street price is snatching the A8 market away. Both being great phones too.

Based on your experience so far, what happens when there are too many ram hogging apps open at the same time? Will the phone hang?

I'm not really worried about data since I always have an excess of it haha

Nope, no lag so far encountered.

Say I toggle between Hangouts to Qoo10 and to Internet, smooth as buttery and keyboard comes out quickly.

When I toggle between Ski Safari or Best Fiends to Hangouts still quick!

But for the former scenario, sometimes I will face reloading of web pages or apps being suspended (i.e. gotta relaunch the app again) which can be quite annoying.

Put your money in the right or fresh basket. The A8 lacks the weatherproofing/glass back/imaging prowess but it itself in other ways (Screen, Dual Sim/mSD, Battery life, Dimensions) makes up for it.
