I just went to samsung and got a firmware update. Grr no 1 to 1 exchange.
They said the issue is common in the first batch of the Beam..

So they said the latest firmware should fix the issue....

Hope it's true!

I so far so good after updated the firmware, nearly three weeks already.enjoy the projector, enjoy the phone:)

Has any Beam users tried emulation? How smooth does the Beam's processor run Androids Game Boy Advance Emulator?

didn't try that...but I will said the graphic/gaming performance is not so great.most gameloft HD games will lag..

So freeze is solved but I did encounter many other annoying bugs on H1 firmware.
1) Alarm clock not working sometime (very annoying bugs for me,cause me to overslept)
2) Video player cannot play, need to restart with ATK
3) WiFi not working sometime,it states connected but still cannot access to internet.Need to restart the phone.

Anyone encounter these problems?

My freeze wasnt solved after the firmware upgrade. But it managed not to get stuck on the android screen although it auto restarted itself :s11: and my video image will lag around 10 seconds after the audio.

Is there nowhere to get the flashing software for this device even for a price?

Yes this is what I would like to know. As soon as it is confirmed we dont have to take it into a service centre to fix the freezing problem, I am importing on to Australia.

no stuck at android screen mean no more freeze problem...the android loading screen is needed for the phone to start up,just like windows.I faced auto restart problem sometime too.
for ur video problem, try convert to other video format or lower bitrate.

no news regarding stock from starhub yet.....:(

by the way is this phone recommended by u all....:look:

good qns:s8:
well...as u can see,I seem like the only one replying all the post here so u shd know is it recommended...
the software is really unstable and so far see no further updates after H1.
samsung singapore people said the software development priority go to the products with the most demand so if u want a stable phone, get the galaxy s or other phone.
But the built in projector is still very cool.

Well I am back with my beam up and running again. But what is left to say? Is already rooted and overclocked so that's all the important modding done :p

how did you manage to do it?? can explain???

There is a Beam rooting thread here where raoxii kindly posted information.

Raoxii - Now your Beam is up and running again, rooted and overclocked, I would love to hear how it is going now. What sort of benchmarks are you getting compared to pre overclock. Is it lagging as bad? What mhz did are you running (didnt 1.2ghz killed it?). How did you get it up and running again?

I will keep my eye on the rooting thread ;)
