Tethering on Samsung Beam

Since Samsung Galaxy Beam (SGB) does not come with wireless tethering (ie to use yr phone as modem), u can still use yr SGB as a modem. Dnload Samsung Kies
(http://www.samsungapps.com/about/onPc.as) n once dnloaded, u can use this software to sync and tether.

I got the Beam on its first launch day. The phone is pretty good to me, except for its size and slight lag. I think the firmware is still new, have to wait for updates for the phone to be perfect.

Eh, let me think, plug in. Because F & G drive icon appear when I plug in, that's when I see the no sd card prompt.

Because when u plug in and mount, control of the internal memory and sd card slot is given to computer. You cannot access those drives via the phone then. Unplug then control is given back to phone.

make sure USB settings is set to mass storage. Plug in and u will see 2 drives appear in ur PC, but u can't open them yet. You've gotta pull down the notifications bar, press the usb thingy, then on the popup press mount.

After that those 2 drives will be accessible on ur PC, one will be the internal memory, the other will be the SD card (if u never put SD card then it will not be accessible obviously).

Surfaces that I want to project on (surface / content):

• Bedroom ceiling / Ebook readers, movies, internet...
• Car interior / Maps, Movies Internet...
• Presentations / Photo's (family, holiday), Powerpoint, current camera image feed
• At the movies / cinema when the previews go too long (its already dark - bonus!)...

What other ideas for projections do people have? Can you add to the list?

ripper was home briefly just now and ripper's pmbox was suddenly full!
surprised to see quite a few bros pm ripper after seeing ripper's post abt exchanging the Beam for SGS

to be honest, Beam's size and weight are always bothering me, maciam a 黄脸婆 u married whom had put on too much weight while SGS's slim svelte figure and lightweight are always seducing ripper maciam a foxy mistress

so really, ripper really wanted to divorce the 黄脸婆 and marry the foxy mistress just now, until something happened!
ripper came home briefly grabbed dinner and then buggered off to gym.
while gobbling down the dinner, ripper checked ripper's bloated pmbox and was surprised by interests from various bros.

but as ripper was rushing off, so no time to reply.
then something happened in the gym.
ripper was teasing moi gym partner abt getting him a Tenga Egg.
he was and asked what is it.
so ripper told him to youtube it himself and he did so on his spanking new tiny Nokia e72 screen and both of us has to bend forward [luckily our gym dun have gays ] to the screen and squint our eyes to view the video.

that's when it hit ripper that ripper missed the 黄脸婆
"how nice it would have been if ripper's Beam was here"
that kinda saved our rocky marriage~
ripper decided to give our marriage another go and work on it for the moment.
ripper hopes ripper can fetch the 黄脸婆 home from hospital tomorrow without hitch coz ripper is missing her dips dips right now. 小别胜新婚~

Bec I m not a Starhub subscriber, so for me to buy SGB, it will cost $1198. Of course, if u buy with plan (eg $38 data plan) the phone costs $348.

Me called Samsung on 18 July and the tech representative told me other telcos will carry SGB somewhere in Sept. Well, you may want to check with Samsung at 1800-Samsung

bro, if u really wanna get the SGB earlier, maybe can do a WTT thread at the phone bazaar?


surely there will be starhub users who gian the SGS but cannot get their hands on it too

u r welcome bro

the projection will work great as long as the surrounding is reasonably dark and most imptly on a white screen.

- bedroom ceiling is no problem unless you are those super rich living in houses that have 10m ceiling
- car interior will be a problem unless you use the provided screen stand with a white screen, or that your car interior is white (ripper would really wanna see that if it's true )
- home presentation definitely no problem since you can control the ambience.
- no problem in dark theatres, but again, white screen for best effects. always fold an blank A4 paper and keep in your pocket
also, make sure your neighbours are smaller-sized than you so that you can easily pummel them into submission when they are disagreeable with what you are screening


however overall, dun expect too much out of a pico projector la
