Just for your info, i dont think installing flash10.apk will work for beam.. it didnt work for Galaxy S on stock firmware...

Its made for FroYo and hence Eclair firmwares will not b able to support full flash (though still got flash lite to do part of the job)

Lol.. if everyone were to look closely at any products, there're bond to be "defects"..
AMOLED screen has issues
SUPER AMOLED screen has issues
retina IPS display also has issues..

Just try not to open your eyes too big (or sharp) so that you'll feel that your device is perfect :)

ripper's Beam just froze again

think ripper can narrow down the cause to most likely the "Unlock Pattern" mode of screen unlock.

last few days, ripper started to use the "Unlock Pattern", sms becomes laggier and system seems more unstable. WHY is that so? ripper dunno.

then just now during lunch, google.calender app crashed again. ripper knew the freeze is coming le. back to office, using the phone halfway, it suddenly cuts to "Android" screen and froze :s22:

Is ur beam a replaced set? Cos I've been using beam for 2 weeks, and i used afew task killers like atk and taskpanel and no issues with freezing, installed quite a number of apps too but no crash. Might be apps u installed. or you constantly killed tasks that are system required? Eg, put security to low in atk will show system required apps, not safe to kill.

Startup auditor also best not to anyhow disable startup apps.

But i didnt use unlock pattern. so thatas also a possibility, but i doubt it is.

ripper hasn't run any diagnostics, but if u click on ripper's video, u can see an Asphalt game running for half a min. so u can compare to your performances. but of coz, the Asphalt game was run w/o running ATK prior to running all the other apps such as Rock Player and ebook reader and gallery.

as for battery, after a few full discharge and recharge cycles, the performance is alot better. for low to moderate usage, ripper reach home from work ard 7pm, still barely 70% left.

with heavier usage today, ripper was using the GPS for a prolonged period (ard 1 to 1.5hr on the road with GPS on). some surfing (15mins?) and lotsa smses (easily 50) and some phonecalls (total 30 mins?) reached home almost 11pm with 30%. screen brightness is on auto-mode.

yes, ripper agrees with u. even at lowest setting, the screen is bright enough for almost all situations except under bright sunlight. :D
the S-AMOLED is simply brilliant :D

thank you for your input.:)
I see the video already, think is about the same.maybe beam is neither a good game machine nor speed monster but I still love the phone, the SUPER AMOLED screen is really beautiful and projector is very cool.many of my friends were very surprised when they know my phone got an projector.I do hope graphic performance will improve with future firmware updates.
Ok,I will do the full discharge and recharge cycles and see if it will improve the battery life to like ur standard.

hav u tried projecting straight at the screen?
if u r projecting at an angle wif the screen, it will cause this effect

laterally, e projection beam has to be at 90 degree wif the screen

no, ripper has yet to take the replacement set.

well, ripper only used the ATK widget (only 40mb+ free when tap on the widget) and set the autokill level to Safe. ripper presumes it should not be killing the systems apps.

and the android.calendar app crashed, and not killed. it's a prelude to a freeze.
what caused it to crashed, ripper is clueless.

the lack of robustness of the system is not an encouraging sign :(
it is made worse by the fact that no ones know how to hard-reset the beam.
even if can hard-reset ourselves, having to reinstall all the stuff again is tiring
