skype didn't work as well...the person at other end cannot hear me...i can hear them...also voice quality bad as well..

am also facing another issue, sometimes when i disconnect the phone from the pc, the internal sd card shows as unavailable(this is the same state when i connect to pc using mass storage mode)..anyone notice this/face this issue? wat to do??

You have to dismount on the phone before u take out the usb cable.

What bad design? I seriously dont understand. When I demonstrate the Galaxy Beam and projector to people / iPhone owners, most people want one. A rare phone to get iPhone sheep fanboys wanting to swap! My Beam with dedicated camera button and flash is so much better than the Galaxy S that I was using since July. I am enjoying my imported Beam on an iPhone 4 plan. I used the iPhone 4 for a couple of weeks, then gladly sold it. With such huge missed potential, it's Samsung's worst business decision ever to drop the Beam and not release it worldwide. Best phone ever! I suspect manufacturing problems or maybe the powers that be such as the copyright / Intellectual Property rights lobbyists didnt want people to be able to share media so easily with a great phone projector amongst a group of friends. I never want a phone without a projector!

I believe the reason is due to lack of stock of SAMOLED Screen,all SAMOLED Screen priority goes to all SGS phones.Also, stock of TI projector might not able to meet the demand if Sammy sell it worldwide.So they drop the BEAM.
Software is not a problem because they can always continue to improve it.

I hardly can believe it. This is the 1st time i ever purchase a phone without the casing made available. At minimum, if it doesnt have those fanciful type like iphone, it should have those pirated transparent type where it can protect the back and edges of the cellphone. Those are readily available for most phone model (execpt Beam) if you ever passby any cellphone shop, hanging on their racks.

thanks guys...i went to samsung center anyways, they resintsall firmware and format card, and now its fine...i think format card initially itself solved it...i used to remove it without doin safe removal or used to use kies... will follow ur advice..

but still fring, nimbuzz ans skype is not working fine.. no sound...works fine with my old nokia...

anyone tried connecting speakers to the headphone jack...am not getting any sound from speaker(x-mini)...it's still via the built in one when playing ringtones and no sound at all via video player....if i connect headphone, can hear sound...

my firmware is i8520dxjh1 now after goin to samsung center...should i upgrade to JI?

How do you find the quality of the camera? I feel that my previous LG 8mp camera is so much better than the current one. The photo I taken from beam is always blurr or not clear (even when I set the quality lvl to 8mp range). Do you all encounter the same problem or I am missing something out in the set up?

I try to use both with and without flash and there is no different

The quality of the camera similar as my 1st camera phone with 3.2mp era.

You have to launch Kies first then unlock the phone after that connect the phone to pc. Then kies recognizes phone.

I bought spare batteries from HK through ebay.. its not original but so far so good.. 2 batt and charger for abt SGD$15 also bought 4 x anti glare screen protector from HK SGD$8

not easy to get beam accessories...

While surfacing net from the hp, I realized that whether ever I login into a particular site and move on to other link from there, it will bonus back to the initial page where asking me to login in again.

Any idea on how to overcome this problem. I don't have this problem with other website when surfing with the hp. Also, no such problem with this particular website when surfing with PC and laptop. So the problem got to do with the samsung hp (setting?).
