that is 1 issue.. the dust and sand got in the joint and when u open or close got the sound.. i think most here only want to hear the positive thing and ignore the bad points inorder to haolian to others they got the phone.

It’s like the normal film protectors installed on S10 and Note10 series, scratches easily by fingernail. That’s why if my nails are long enough I will go cut.

The Samsung guy who show the demo for the Fold to me told me yesterday that stocks will only come few months later. I got ask him about the silver one which was supposed to come today, he told me say the silver one already come out on 18th like few of the guys here mentioned.

Anyone heading to Vivocity Starhub this morning? Though silver is supposed to release 21 sept (today), their galaxy fold stock availability page, which updates every 15min, consistently says no stock of either colour.

Possible. I'm sad that my Starhub CIS discount is only 10%. Anyone have ideas how to get 20% or even 30%? That'll really help reduce the monthly subscription

I suggest you dont trust him...I think it's the same guy that told me esim is only available for singtel and starhub and not m1... but actually the correct information is the other way round.

They were also the ones that say tab s6 keyboard cover only arrive end sept but actually arrived in 2nd week Sept..

After playing with the Fold yesterday at Paragon, what I like is the display is sharp and clear. The device is quite heavy as compared to Note10 and S10 series, better don’t drop.

Playing YouTube also nice from the inside screen and outside screen. Don’t know is it me or what when you want to fold the phone quite hard to fold. The guy also told me that the tape inside the case provided is a must to tear otherwise it will come out easily and he asked me to insert SIM card first before putting on the case as it is very hard to take out.

Think I’m going eSIM for my Fold instead of using SIM card, just like my iPhone XS Max. Once I put on the case liao I don’t want to take it out already.

Overall hands on experience with the Samsung guy is good, he let me in although I did not register for my slot.

After 48hrs...
Still, for me, its a tablet turn to phone adn not another way round.

- app continuity (playing,reading from 1 screen to another is superb)
- dual speaker (loder than others dual)
- on the move, uses fold in half over "V", allows better hand grip

- the 1:1 is something to get use
- the front screen though 4.6"..small but through app continuity, begin to appreciate

Dislikes
- weight

What abt batt ??? if you get insane batt life .. weight can be a trade off

They recorded the users' interest and said that the silver one will be available today. Now thay said no stock.

You say they Kong LC way boh? It only means they did not cater for silver sets for those who are interested and waited till today, right?

No insane batt life but imo, certainly better than the local s10+ and local Note 10+ previously owned by me.

I heard that, somehow, the Mate X will be exempted from the ban, not sure about it though. Without Google support, it'd be an uphill task for Huawei, and that's putting it mildly. Also, I'm not keen on the Mate X because, while it may look better in some aspects, that it has an exterior main screen makes it pretty hard to keep the screen protected.

I guess a protective case can be made for it, that'd entail slotting the phone into the protective case, but if wanna use the big screen, kena take out to use, and put back when not in use.....this'd get pretty old after a short while. Not saying the Fold is better, just that with the screen on the inside, I don't have to worry about accidentally scratching it like I would with the Mate X.

Now the Mate 30 Pro also got people install Google Play Store on it despite there is no default Google Play Store

So what's the issue with the Mate X without Google Play Store? Don't know how to install yourself?

I was so eager for multi screen that I bought the LG v50 dual screen to try. A common learning is that it's no use having more or bigger screen if the integration is poor. In some of the latest Mate X youtube video demos, hardware wise it's more logical though riskier than the Fold, but the part that is disconcerting is how from single to dual screen mode, you can see how the experience lacks app continuity which is why Huawei is still working with developers to take advantage of. Without this you will feel like you're owning two separate devices in one. It's as it you have two different products.

I'm in line at vivo starhub. Their stock avail happened to just show "available" for silver so one of you was right. They had to open the store then update!
