Fold screen breaking

That guy don't have the phone...
https://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/tech-news-samsung-galaxy-fold-faces-display-issues-just-48-hours-updated-samsungs-response

Mkbhd and some editors are feeding back on the peel and half damaged screen.

It does not jive to the message that Samsung perform insane qc test (bending)

We had seen other youtubers have the phone... And if they also feedback on the damage screen, then its a pb

Well at least we know that there is a SP.. And must not be removed

There's reports of screen breaking even without removing the SP. So I think its a risk for early adopters. Its a new technology and I sense Samsung is trying to rush their products out before their competitors by refusing to change the release date even as they are investigating.

So

The phone screens that broke without peeling the protective layer are most likely user mishandling.

The one with the bulge under the screen is likely caused by hardened clay that got into the hinge. The reviewer used moulding clay to secure the phone for taking videos and pictures for the review and the clay likely got into the hinge via the tiny opening and the folding action pushed the clay up to the screen and eventually broke the screen. If you see the video by Lew, 3 posts from this, clay is a very common item used by reviewers to prop up the phone for taking views of the phone for video and pictures of the review. For regular consumers, it could be larger dust particles or lint or even sand particles that could get into the hinge and potentially result in the same outcome.

Samsung will have to work even more on the design of the Fold for future iterations if any.

The inside of the Samsung Galaxy Fold is marvelously messy

Galaxy_Fold_Jelly.gif

Both of the cables stretching through the hinge have “L” and “R” printed on them. That might help explain the display’s “jelly scrolling” effect that we spotted in our review, if it turns out that the left and right halves of the display are sent different video signals. As seen in the GIF above, text and images appear to be a bit behind on the left side of the foldable display compared to the right side.
