I bought mine from Gain City. Am I eligible for a refund? Or will it be possible to do a 1 to 1 exchange @ a later date? The floor counter is always wrong after the upgrade. N my deep sleep reading also very weird. Can any1 confirm that it is really a HW issue?

So is this a HW, SW issue or just some random cases? It seems there is no official announcement at the moment. There should be many buyers complaining about this issues if this is really happening worldwide. I don't think local GW is different from rest of the world.

I don’t think it is a software or hardware issue. My HR monitor, steps counter and others working fine accurately before and after the software update.

In addition, after the software update (as it mentions better battery management), I can get a forecast of 2 days some hours based on my usage pattern. I used to get 1 day and 23hrs max on a full charge.

Also, the GW was released in other countries since Aug 2018. There has not been any reviews, news of such software or hardware bug, issue going on.

Am using a 42mm Black and happy till now.

Cheers!

I am wearing my fitbit on one hand and Samsung watch on other. Samsung certainly counts fewer steps, around 25% less. It's also doesn't measure continuous heart rate like Fitbit. Measures it at some intervals.

Was able to set up Spotify and download my playlist to the watch for offline listening.

HRM on Galaxy Watch can be set to continues monitoring via setting so it will be able to track ur heart rate 24/7. By default it's set to every 10 mins.

in my experience as former fitbit owner, fitbit always overestimate steps (and hence calories) even after calibrating stride length etc, will still over estimate.
This is a somewhat known issue.
do a search on "fitbit overcounting steps"

There’s quite a long tread on the HR monitoring issue on both US & EU Sammy website actually. To be specific, on the 46mm model. My last comments was specific to 46 mm too
And the response from the vivo Sammy shop verified the issue

From my experience hand worn step tracker is slightly less accurate than body step tracker. Also depends on which wrist (dominant or non dominant hand) for the wrist work step tracker. 2 trackers worn on 2 different hands confirm will get different number of steps between the 2. But like I said before, tens of steps doesnt make much of a difference.

Wrist worn HRM will be less accurate than chest strap HRM.

So actually wrist worn fitness tracker is just for "reference" only. If really need accuracy down to the last step and last heart beat, get a body worn step tracker and cheat strap HRM.

Do u mean that 42mm and 46mm have different HRM components? So the issue is only happening on 46mm model?

The info through online findings point to the 46mm and my personal experience is with the 46mm.
There seemed to be a trend.
Confirmation wise, no one can unless Sammy make official statement

The vibration for WhatsApp messages no longer works on my 46mm watch since the latest update. Same goes for SMSs as well.

It vibrates when receive calls though, problem only happens with message notifications.

Anyone else facing the same issue?

For info, am using the watch with an iPhone X on iOS 12.1
