samsung pay does not require internet connectivity to function, but the number of transactions that can be completed when samsung pay has no internet connectivity is limited.

Meaning, samsung pay app generates a few of the tokens and standby in the app for use whenever it has connectivity to the internet, so that in the event you don't have internet, these tokens can be used readily..

is this offline token thing tested and confirmed?
cuz last time i thought apple pay also like this... but now i realised my apple watch after offline (not connecting to phone or internet) for few weeks, apple pay on watch still works, which means it can last for 1 mth of average credit card usage without internet connectivity.

Yes confirmed. There are a small set amount of usable tokens generated by Samsung pay and Android Pay.

From Samsung
When you are using Samsung Pay to make a purchase, no internet connection is needed. However, some networks will limit you to 10 transactions during a period without internet access, after which Samsung Pay will require an active internet connection. We recommend connecting to the internet at least once per day to ensure Samsung Pay stays up to date.

For Apple Pay, it is slightly different as the device generates these keys internally and securely based on the card set up. Technically Apple pay has unlimited amounts of tokens for offline use.

Error from what kind of machine? Those nfc receiver pad or those that can insert or swipe card with nfc receiver on top?

Edit: if you are on oreo, might want to go into nfc settings > tap and pay > others. Make sure the payment app is selected.

Any other samsung goodies to redeem similar to the wireless charger?

Is your device connected to the internet? It sounds like somehow it is not able to generate new tokens with the banks to be used.

Apple pay works very differently as the device itself can generate these tokens. Google Pay and Samsung Pay require a network connection to refresh and generate tokens once it runs out.

Samsung Pay MST failed on me today. Terminal says not supported.

Possible that merchant configured the terminal not to accept MST?

I read before, they need to update the device firmware or something. They probably didn't made it compatible

Merchant has no control over the software update of the terminals, it is controlled by the bank.

Also, if terminal says not supported, it could be a issue with MST not transmitting adequate information.

Which model of phone is that?

Samsung A8+. I've used Samsung Pay MST countless of times, this is the first time I've encountered this.
