I did 2 Samsung Pay transactions in Japan, one in a Drug store and another in a restaurant. You just need to find out/ask where they swipe the card. Most cases their payment terminal is actually built into their POS.

Samsung Pay is probably not heard of in Japan due to mostly Japanese phones or iPhone users there. I don't think I've seen anyone carry a Samsung Phone. Japan supports their own brands.

I tried it on a Citibank terminal today for $1400 and it failed. I then broke up into 2 txns of $700 each and it worked. Mind you, this was a citibank terminal, not some other banks terminal.

I succeeded for $1k, and 1 minute later at the same terminal with the same cashier, $1k was rejected. Had to split payment into 2x$500.

Anyone with experiences in Malaysia? Have been having a hit miss without any discernable pattern even on MST. Some less knowledgeable cashiers refuse to even try for fear of a scam or something.

I see, guess was bad luck. I just needed to ask where they swipe the card or see where they swipe the card and ask permission to do so. The usual Japanese surprised reaction was heard when their POS beeped. They have not seen this before cause they only know of those contactless payment terminals (for support of their own phones and Apple Pay I guess).

Only ap worked once. Once. . .

Tried @ around 4 pm y'day. Got nothing. Says promo over.

No complaints though. Got gv tickets and the spa voucher.

T&Cs says you can only win 1 gift from the whole contest. So I went for the movie tickets instead. It's more worth than the BRACA dining voucher cause that place is not cheap, did you see the menu pricing?
