Sorry I don't believe cuz between hard drive and SSD difference is the way data are stored it doesn't affect sound quality.
PC sound quality depends on the driver and type of audio codec used.

Get a good sound card if you want good audio performance instead of using sound chip and playing with drivers.

To test the performance and faithful reproduction of source for your audio setup, get a CD to play, beside volume,
turn off surround, equalizer, sound enhancement, set bit and sampling rate either 16/24 bit 441khz and set bass and treble to 0db. I can get as good as the CD source beside not able to sound like a studio in my room.

As someone who actually invested more than 10K on my desktop hi-fi gear, I can tell you that expensive digital cables are pure snake oil. Obviously your cables need to be well-built and good idea to replace stock cables that come with the gear but don't need to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars for it. A $10 USB cable does the same job as $200 one. Yes, I actually home demoed quite a few of these 'audiophile' cables on my home setup and seriously did not hear any improvements.

Speaker cables on other hand can actually slightly change the sound of the setup, but its more like adding coloration rather than making the sound 'better'. I use only cheapo Monoprice cables on my speakers and they sound really good.

If you are serious about desktop audio setup, either get very good active speakers like Genelec, Cabasse, Kef, or Devialet. Or invest in proper passive setup with DDC, outboard DAC, and an integrated amplifier.

I do have PC running HDD, the PC is running Win 7 and the sound quality isn't bad.
Why? For that PC a Creative Recon3D soundcard is installed.
My Win 10 PC is different that one is using ASUS SupremeFX Onboard sound.
Is not HDD or sound better but the driver.
Suspect your PC after update to Win 10, the audio driver is a better one.
This is the logical explanation and neither SSD have High resolution audio certification like some audio equipment have.

no lah..............i was using HDD on old pc...................then cloned to SSD.................then use SSD on the same old pc..............everything was the same except HDD switch to SSD..................


there was a Japanese Pioneer engineer in the 1990s...............he will hard wire normal consumer batteries and use them to power his amplifier..................he can even tell you which brand of batteries sound better.............

not Sony................on those forums, there are companies that modify existing SSDs so become ''audiophile''.............there's audiophile motherboards too................and these people don't use normal pc PSU even.............they use linear power supplies not switch-mode type.............

you will hear it.................some put a ferrite core at interconnects or speaker cable...............but the treble become rolled off................some cables are shielded but they sound less open.............

This means you go by feeling. If someone hide behind the system and make you do the same test. You will not be able to find the different. Ferrite core suppress noise above Radio Frequency range.

Nah, true hardcore audiophiles don't use PC to stream. They use expensive streamers like those by Aurender and Lumin.

Don't have audiophile PSU, but plenty of audiophile linear power supply and main conditioner. Got one local brand Plixir makes and sells locally.

Me, I am contented streaming with Tidal and Roon on my PC. I see no need to invest in things like streamers, main conditioner, or those fancy silver speaker cables or super thick power cables. If upgrade, priority will be speakers or subwoofer first.

This is for DAC/AMPs but not for PC.
For me as I am using a Pioneer AVR, Spotify etc. are stream through this AVR using my PC, phone etc.
