singles can only apply for non-mature areas..also due to limited units and very limited allocation their chances are near zero since they won't get any allocation unless the elderly and first timers don't use up their quota or give up their ballot. same goes for the second timers

34 * 0.6 * 0.05 = 1.02 any less than that it will be less than 1 unit

Hi, just curious on how the balloting works here. Say first timer application rate is 3.0 and assuming that 100 units were set aside for first timer - does that mean that the other 200 applicants will have to join in the queue with the rest of the 2nd timers or will first timers be given priority if there are drop outs? Thanks in advance!

Nono, being first timer does no guarantee you a slot, but rather it give you extra chance during balloting.

From my knowledge, 95% of the flat are reserved for 1st timer and only 5% reserved for 2nd timer, meaning if there are 100 unit available, 95 unit will be reserve for 1st timer and 5 unit for 2nd timer.

However, HDB will ballot the applicants up to 300% of the total unit supplied, meaning in this case, there will be 300 applicants who will be choose for the queue, once these 300 applicants has been chosen, the computer will then randomly generate the queue no. So even being a 2’d timer, you will still have a chance to get a good queue no.

But as the process is not transparent enough, thus, we cannot exactly find out how the real process work =(

Hi there, first time applying SBF too. Am curious about how HDB ballots; whether they take into account the quota for different Ethnic races.

Example,

100 units available

80 - Malay quota
90 - Chinese quota
50 - Indian/Others quota

Will they ballot base on the ethnic applications (like from Chinese they select up to 90 ppl etc.) ??

Thank you! Yea im thinking say if your queue number exceeds the flat supply, once 2nd timer quota hits (5%), the rest will be given to first timer but order of queue will be based on the ballot
