For example, the total price of my intended purchase is US$40. If I were to charge it to the card in USD, the Bank will convert it into SGD and I will be charged with this SGD amt + 1% Visa fee + 2.5% processing fee. Am I right?
Are you saying that this SGD amt + 3.5% will definitely be cheaper than having Paypal do the conversion for me?

Yes paypal conversion worse than the 3.5% fee.

Yes provided you already transited to the new TnC. Think existing card owners all transiting after the statement date in Dec. Anyway just 2%, may as well use DBS Visa debit for 5%.

5%?!?!?! no minimum spend?

No min spend. Only requirement is cannot withdraw cash from DBS/POSB atm/branch for more than 3 times per month nor more than $400 per month.

Still no idea on the cashback calculation, is this base on each calendar month OR individual statement cycle date? :o:s22:

Pardon me if someone asked this before.

Anyone can clarify on this? Many thanks in advance.

Welcome. Btw you know the TnC changing after your statement in Dec? The card becomes quite useless after that.

Standard Chartered Spree Card

I'm a new foreigner in Singapore and I'm interested in applying for this card. I do note their T&Cs suggest there are some exceptions to the Android Pay / Contactless 2% cashback offered (per below). Does that mean if I use Android Pay / Contactless function at SMRT station to top up my EZ link card (i.e. not via auto-reload), I will NOT earn any cashback?

FYI I used my foreign MasterCard at those top up machines and the transaction showed up as: "TRANSIT 30000XXXXXXXXX" as the merchant name (i.e. none of the names below). Does the merchant name differ for locally-issued Visa cards? Thanks

l) any top-ups or payment of funds to any prepaid cards (with the exception of EZ-Reload charged to your Card) and any prepaid accounts including without limitation to the following accounts or any other accounts as we may specify from time to time: EZ LINK PTE LTD, EZ LINK PTE LTD (FEVO), EZ-LINK PTE LTD SINGAPORE, EZ-LINK TOP-UP KIOSK, EZ-LINK (IMAGINE CARD), EZLINK*, EZ LINK, EZLINKS.COM, FLASHPAY ATU, TRANSITLINK*, TRANSIT LINK*, TRANSIT LINK PL, TRANSIT, MB* MONEYBOOKERS.COM, WWW,IGMARKETS,COM,SG, OANDAASIAPA, OANDA ASIA PAC, PAYPAL * BIZCONSULTA, PAYPAL * OANDAASIAPA, PAYPAL * CAPITALROYA, Saxo Cap Mkts Pte Ltd and SKR*SKRILL.COM and m) any other charge, fee, transaction or payment as we may stipulate from time to time.

"TRANSIT" is in the list, so it is excluded from cashback

Did u received sms for the change of effective date? Generally old benefit (7%) until your statement date in Dec.

i got an sms that says that the new spree benefit starts from 28 dec. my statement date is every 27th.

probably can assume transactions of 28 oct - 27 dec all can get 7% with the rebate coming in on statement of 27th jan, i guess.
