thanks man still thinking on whether to sign this card or get a general spending card as my monthly expense is really low

quite confused with what exactly is eligible for the 7%..

is it just purely online shopping?

how about like paying online the Singtel bills?

online airline tickets?

online groceries?

purchase identified as an online transaction based on codes assigned by Visa ("Qualifying Online Purchase") gets 7%, except online groceries get 2% under the rebate for groceries. Issue is some airline and telco bill payment is processed offline or not identified as online.

Weee finally applied and got my card within 5days. Surprisingly fast considering I am a first timer with SCB. Also just saw my credit bureau report for the first time and was surprised that my secured and unsecured credit limit and balance is so high. Really puts things in perspective. =X

cheaptickets.sg not considered as online transaction

I purchased flight tickets worth ~$1000 from cheaptickets.sg with SCB SingPost card, but I didn't receive the 7% cashback. Is cheaptickets.sg not considered as an online transaction? I just received 0.2% cashback.

I called SCB customer care, they said Credit Card charges are appearing as Singapore Airlines (bought SQ tickets on cheaptickets), but it's not appearing with online transaction code. She said she'll escalate to the concerned department, who'll investigate and get back to me. Anyone with a similar experience?

Let me clarify there - I just received 0.2% cashback. It's not the matter of capping. My total cashback for the statement cycle is less than $2.

if escalated, most likely SCB will grant you the 7%. ask nicely, give appropriate reasons ie received SMS OTP, booked online, received itin online, no idea it is not online from your perspective, etc etc

i recall my previous CheapTickets purchase, the vendor came thru as "Vayama" (or something) & it was online. It was not SQ though, but Qatar

Thanks, that's what I'm hoping for as well. In fact, during the online transaction OTP, it was just for SGD 1 to Vayama (probably just authorization). They actually charged credit card nearly 7 hours later, and even the SMS said SGD xxx charged at SINGAPORE AIRLI. I guess sometimes cheaptickets charge it under Vayama (their own parent company), and sometimes charge it under the ticketing airline.

One question. I usually spend $858 on this card online to get $60 cash back. If i spend $857 will i still get $60 cash back or will it be $59.99?

Think rebate is rounded down to nearest cent per transaction
