As long as your groupon transaction is processed by a overseas provider.

It seems Groupon purchases is usually (or always) processed overseas in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. The way to avoid the overseas SGD processing fee to to pay using the same card via PayPal, which is processed locally in Singapore.

For Visa checkout like through Zuji, qoo10 or other online platforms, this mode of payment still consider online?

Some time a few months ago, PayPal was also routed overseas for processing (maybe local processing center got downtime) which caught quite some ppl surprised. So yeah, it's not always :)

Just a note, my most recent SGD transactions (4 nos. i.e. Qoo10 and Lazada) via PayPal in the past month, all did not incur any DCC charges.

Qoo10 and Lazada process locally in the first place, so of course no cross border fee.

Are there any conditions attached with the $138 cashback? Are there any eligible spending terms to be met or is the $138 cashback provided to you across a period of time?

1. OCBC 365 got alot of restriction but I think can use it for :

a) Groceries 3%
b) Recurring telco bills 3%
(Min $600, Cap at $80/mth)

Spend : Groceries $400 + Telco $200 = $600 on 3% is Cashback $18

2. SCB SingPost CC 7% for online (Min $600, Cap at $60/mth)

Spend : Online $860 ~ Cashback $60

3. Citibank Dividend MasterCard

a) EssoMobil petrol 5% cashback (same as OCBC 365)
b) Everything else 0.5%
(IIRC no min right? Cap at how much I also forgot liao)

Are you guys using this combo?

Once sign up, approved and you get the credit card, you'll get the $138 credit liao. But must spend within a certain time, can't remember how long liao.

Anyway, I got the card on 20 Aug and now spent about $900+ online liao. See whether can get cashback of $60 or not.

to add on
petrol using citi is lousy. uob1 get about 22+% at spc
Everything else using citi gives you 0.25%. Even at 0.5%, it is very lousy.

BOC Family CC 5% | 7% (Min. $500 / statement month, couple with BOC MCY Savings Acc)
-- > Supermarket Groceries, Watsons, TRUs, NFP ATU | Dining

SCB Singpost 7% (Min $600 / statement month)
-- > Online payment of Telco bills as well

Citibank Dividend/Cashback CC 8% (Min $800 / statement month) (Thats explains why I stopped using it for quite some time)
-- > Dining & Supermarket Groceries (Petrol I don't drive, so I don't use. But so far my parents they use SPC coupled with either UOB or POSB Everyday Card)

Citibank SMRT CC (If less than min $600 / statement month, rebates are at 0.3% less)
-- > Supermarket Groceries, Cafes, Popular, TRUs, Town Council S&CC Fees - Giro
