The Qoo10 purchase did ask for OTP, but also not count the 7%. So, OTP or not OTP, does it really the source of problem?
OTP does not really determine if it's online or not. Previously Starhub payments require OTP, so there seems to be a change in the payment gateway.
Anyway, here's what StanChart replied me:
The definition of ‘qualifying online purchases’ refers to online transactions that exclude purchases via the telephone or mail order.
We identify online transactions and their categories via codes assigned by Visa.
The categories are decided by the merchants and their acquiring banks.
Therefore, if the merchants are not classified under the online category, transactions made at these merchants will not be eligible for the online Cashback.
The list of codes is not under the purview of the bank therefore, we are unable to make the list of codes available for reference.
In general, for any goods and services purchased online with the SingPost Platinum Visa credit card, where a One-Time Password (OTP) is required during the processing, these would be classified as online transactions.
We would like to seek your kind understanding that 7% Cashback on any online transaction is not identified by us as it will be based on codes assigned by Visa.
For your case, you should just call or message them.
