Anyone ever received 6% rebate on online airfare booking on KLM SG or Air France SG website ?
think this is the discrepancy

Also, if I bought from Redmart $30, but Redmart credited back $10 due for 1 item returned. Would the remaining $20 get 6% rebate in Jun ? or not at all ?

So, initially SCB did not apply 7% rebate on my online ticket purchase. I appealed & they agreed to give that to me.

The Investigation Officer explained that SCB is giving 7% rebate to merchants who have registered to Visa as "Online Merchants" with the relevant merchant code !
Many companies offer online payments but how many would say they should be classified as "Online Merchants" ?

Looking at my statement again, I think they also did not apply 7% for my online travel insurance purchase. :s27:

$0 cashback for spending in June, and I spent > $500. Called SCB and they said cashback will be credited in August. :s8:

They have probably worked out a mechanism to correct the missing rebate for Jun/Jul due to the change on 1 Jul ($600 min spending instead of $500, 2% rebate for grocery instead of 6%), and implement it in Aug

I requested a line by line review of rebates on my Jun purchases.
CSO took a couple of days to revert & was very helpful but think maths cannot make it ...

Suspect a lot of online payments not classified as "Online" but classified as "other merchants" - for my case, this happened for airlines (AirFrance) & travel insurance (Etiqa). 7% vs 0.2% !

Sheng Shiong is "Other Merchants" - 0.25% not "Supermarket". (Anyways shld be using POSB for 5% going forward)

I disputed these & they have agreed to credit cashback. Case closed for Jun.

Just sharing.

Encountered once of such issue. Generally, just explain nicely to them (at least I did that in my case) and the CSO just credited the missing difference almost immediately to my card.

According to the SCB CSO.. all forms of insurance and taxes (road tax etc) are not entitled to 7% rebates.

I am quite sure air France is not processing it as online payment. Travel insurance also possible not processed as online. Nothing wrong with SCB side IMO.

https://www.sc.com/sg/credit-cards/singpost-platinum-visa.html#terms-conditions

is there further tnc that describe what is included or excluded? this is all i read from the website but did not see a further link.

so compared to ocbc frank card, for singpost card what are the online transactions that are also excluded from bonus rebate, other than what u mentioned?

- online telco payment via singpost sam/vbox
- online payment (one time/recurring) satellite/TV/cable charges
- online payment for online storage
- online payment for utility bills
- online payment for hosp bills
- online payment for education related service or items
- online donations
- online parking payment
- online membership fee
- the vague payment service provider
- the very vague professional service provider
- the all encompassing any other transactions deemed by bank

hi, so does it mean that if transaction is done with SMS authorisation, receive receipt & confirmed itinerary on the same day, it can still be processed offline ?

not that i doubt you but just for better understanding.

Yes it can still be processed offline or the merchant code may indicate as offline. But can still try call and ask if the rebate can be given

Yes, definitely possible. Air France is known for doing that, already got people complain before. Its nothing new. BTW, how does getting a receipt and itinerary on the same day imply its online payment? You walk into any store, swipe a card also got receipt and goods immediately but its still not online payment, I don't understand your train of thought. Only the OTP SMS might lead you to think its online payment which I can understand.

Still no news on the June spending cashback :s8:

I spent $900+ on online spending they only give me $24 rebates for july statement, call them a guy say call me back in one-two days never got back.

Third day i wrote in thru the ibanking mailbox, they reply me with whole full page of redundant information on the card criteria (need min spend of $600, need to be online spending bla bla bla) and only one sentence is key point, there was a merchant refund, i reply that after refund i still hv $850 + online spending what about it?

Scb products r quite ok, but once u kenna dispute liaising with them can be blood vomitting..
