Thoughts on the following itinerary ? Would appreciate if y'all could suggest where to base out of too, if some of them can be done as day trips.
- 15 days
- no driving
- need at least 2 full days (excl. 1 and 15) in Sapporo due to wife's shopping needs
1 afternoon arrive
Sapporo 1 2
Otaru 3 (possibly day trip from Sapporo)
Furano/Biei/Tomita farm 4 5
Asahikawa 6 7
Jigokudani + Noboribetsu 8
Lake Toya 9
Hakodate 10 11
Niseko 12
Sapporo 13 14, 15
15 evening depart
i have not used public transport there much but seems like a lot of travelling and many locations
- wld drop Furano & Asahikawa or do just 1
- Niseko - IMO, that area best explored with car .. not sure your plan there. A bit out of the way without Car.
- Probably better to go Niseko from Toya, rather than go Hakodate first
- spend 1 more day at Hakodate
if arrive from Chitose, can consider going to Nobo first, and make way to Hakodate
then from Hako, go straight to Furano/Biei, then Asahikawa (if needed), then back to Sapporo
or fly into Hakodate and start from there ?
not sure which season u r going
first Hokkaido trip ? or been before ?
