The Saudi man, Muslim or not, and his deplorable actions should be duly investigated, sent to trial and punished but anyone with half a brain can see the comments inside that equally deplorable thread, are mocking and passing utterly sarcastic remarks about Islam and Muslims.

It is funny that some atheists will keep on ridiculing religions and people's beliefs of God/gods in religion-related threads but they did not mention anything about people praying to statues in this instance, and compare it to science and mocking it.

Some people preach about not needing religion to have good morals but evidently disrespecting others' choices to believe, mocking and making sweeping statements, generalizations and sarcastic remarks condemning others' religious beliefs etc. is ok by them.

No one's forcing religion down their throats, no one says you cannot be an atheist but some seem very eager to 'evangelize' their atheism and attack religions (although only a few selected religions, that is).

In the world we live in today, we have made tremendous progress in terms of freedom of religion. But sadly, many of our fellow human brothers in other states are still deprived of freedom from religion due to such draconian laws as the apostasy law in Islam.

Really? Tell that to the family members of the people who were beheaded, stoned to death, executed merely because they didn't share the same religious beliefs.

There IS no compulsion in religion.

I would categorise such killings as honour killing. Yes, very often we hear of such things happening and a good percentage among them from people who aren't Muslims. These thing happened in many societies already. You just didn't hear about them. Here, let me show you. And do note that these are recent events.

There are people here who are responsible for putting that skewed lens over your eyes. And that is what aliciagreen is trying to put down, a praiseworthy effort I must say.
