thanks for the great info. What abt Vivaldi Park Ski Resort ?

This was on my 2018 itinerary... but in the end we skip it upon reaching Seoul as we are ill prepared for the winter... if go ski resort i think will die... haha...

Maybe this December trip will revisit this idea... i remember there is a free shuttle bus there from Myeongdong but can't seems to find the information on their website anymore... maybe it is not open for booking yet...

You can get to these places by subway and Children's grand park is maybe closer which is located within Seoul.
Weather wise, it will be very cold and mostly dry, temp would be around no more than 20 max and min can hit below 10 degrees. You should be able to experience Autumn foliage even though the peak has passed for it. No snow.

There is Seoul zoo and also Everland and Lotte world.
Bunch of aquariums as well in the Seoul area.
No more autumn leaves and also no snow
Weather will be cool temperatures, probably light jacket, depending on your temp tolerance.
Wont have rain i think.
In Busan, nature beach and some mountain scenery.
Also have new Lotte world.
Have seafood wet market
not going busan after all, will be going nami and prob one of the park to see the remain of fall .

Hi guys, I will be heading to korea in mid Dec. Probably will spend about 3D2N in jeju then head back to seoul for remaining trip. If my flight touch down in Korea in 7-8am, what timing should I be booking the flight to jeju if I'm heading straight to jeju on the day itself?

To be safe, I would take 12pm as earliest flight.

1 hr to clear immigration n get bags.
1 hr to get to Gimpo airport
Then have enough time to checkin n relax a bit.

Good thing is that there are tons of flights between Gimpo n Jeju every day.

U can also consider a direct or transit flight to Jeju n then fly back from Seoul Icn airport.

If lucky, might snow in the lowland cities like Seoul but it is just random.

Mountains would most likely have snow.
Bukhansan, Jirisan, Hallasan, Seoraksan etc

Was in Korea back in 2018 ard mid Dec... it did snowed a little bit on one of the days... U might have more luck heading up to the mountains or ski resorts...

But this year is still under La Nina... the northern atmosphere is expected to be colder and have more snow than usual... so be more prepared for the cold... the wind chill in Seoul is no joke... prepare some heat packs and those rechargeable hand warmer if possible...

Last year 2021, it snowed on 18th Dec in Seoul.
Had quite a lot of snow as well!
At least 3cm worth.

If it snows, best to go to those nature places like parks, palaces.
The snow will be more fresh and stay longer.

Thanks for sharing the experience. Thinking of going to hallasan to try our luck to see got snow or not as we will be staying in jeju on the first few days. However most likely will only go for the shorter route to mid point instead of all the way up to the peak.

We are going to ski resort as well. Which ski resort will be recommended if we are going to stay at seoul?

Hi, i am planning sin-seoul-jeju-sin. Travelling with 2 kids & probably another family too.

My plan likely to include N tower/Palace, dmz tour, zoo or aquarium and 1 full day for lottleworld or dreamworld. Jeju will be more for sight seeing.

I have placed jeju in my last part as i guess they will be too tired by then and we can rent a car to travel around.

I have either 7 or 9 days (same price to fly back either dayl). what is a good proportion to split between seoul & jeju?

We are not into shopping but will still prefer accessibility to train n mall for food and supermarket. I shd look at myeong dong for hotel options right - as another family is joining, need to also have the flexibility of they can ownself visits w/o sticking together.

Thank you in advance

If 7 days, just stick to Seoul with all the sights u are planning on.
Also have to consider the time to travel to n from Korea.

If 9 days, maybe budget 3 days in Jeju.
Won't get to see much in 3 days though as your first and last day will be partly travel depending on flight time.

Personally if first time in Korea, I would just spend all 9 days in the Seoul area as u can take day trips to nature places outside of Seoul including mountains, ocean , forests etc

On arrival at ICN, if the time is tight for connecting flights to Jeju from Gimpo and queue is long for international passengers, you can go to Korea Passport Only gate, tell immigration officer that you are kind of rushing for connecting flight, they usually stamp your passport. Do only this, if you have a travelling companion, so while the partner is keeping the spot inline. If the officer says OK, then you can ask your partner or family member to join you for quicker exit. I have done this numerous occasions and they let me and my wife use the Korean passport holder only channel.

Apologies. Shd be everland.

I have extended to a 10 day trip. Anyone know of any local guide who can arrange for transport / tour for a group of 11? Probably 3 days to cover nami island/n tower/palace/others attraction. I know klook provide such tour though but more of 1 day type?

Other days we wil cover everland lottleworld n dmz...probably arrange via klook too.

Is myeondong a more suitable location to stay?

Do u really need a guide or just a driver?

I used to get K-Van Limo for driving us to Nami Island and Garden of the Morning Calm… as well as airport transfers… but is only driver and speaks basic English… They have big vans that can accommodate big groups…

I would say Myeongdong is quite central and convenient to get around… and there are lots of hotel choices of different budgets to choose also…
