I thought ahg will be credited into your cpf and you can use this money for stamp and legal fees since stamp and legal fees can be paid via cpf monies?

the correct procedure is to apply for HLE first. many don't follow this.

but funny thing is that the HLE must be valid during the signing of the lease agreement. considering the fact that the signing can take place approx 4 months or longer from the selection date, the HLE will definitely expire and will have to extend again...

the validity period vs the flat selection date is indeed strange. i just remember reading on HDB's site about applying for HLE as the first step, so as to gauge your options.

the departments within HDB are probably not communicating well. ;)

then again, maybe you can contact the loan dept to extend your HLE validity if you have exercised your option to purchase?

the complications arising from not knowing your HLE are even worse, IMO. at least the 'double' work is just a quick call. ;)

HDB did advice everyone to do a quick survey on their eligibility to purchase a flat / secure a loan before balloting. During the first signing of OTP, your salary is also verified by the staff. In that case I don't see much reason your HLE will be unsuccessful if one follows the procedures

No need to worried so much for the initial HLE loan.
After selecting your desire unit. Pay 2k which is refundable.
On this particular point you can applied your HLE.

Take note that this first application of HLE is only to make sure you are eligible for a loan.

Than when you are about to collect your key.
Hdb will ask you to send in your new income.
They will access your income and will allocate a new sum of loan for you.

Hope this explanation helps.

The amount when approved will be credited into yours and your partner cpf oa account.. however, this ahg money would not be able to use to pay off the stamp andegal fees as stated in hdb website.. hope this helps..

but they are usually quite slow in getting things done. just hope they will extend the HLE in time to come before the signing.

from what i know, you can let your HLE officer know your selection date, and they will try to get it to you by that date.
