Old lady called me up and said wanted to will her share of flat to me. But told her not possible as flat unless joint tenancy is converted to tenancy in common and I already own a flat under MOP. Nevertheless met the son several times and somehow convinced him to agree to the conversion. Told the son that the share willed to me will be returned to him in instalments from age 65 (like cpf
) when the flat is sold after the mother's death.The conversion was with the knowledge of the son's elder brother and sister as I don't want any misunderstanding. My aunty's will is now with me. Even the son's will naming my youngest sis as beneficiary is with me
Sounds like con job Ah...the power of persuasion!
But the son will be compelled to sell once she passes away since there is no way you can hold on to your MOP flat and still TIC of her flat.

More arm twisting than persuasion
On 26 Apr going with the son to select 2rm on behalf of my aunt. Aiming for site A block 35 and will be taking the optional components.
I as beneficiary certainly cannot inherit the replacement flat as I am owner of a flat under MOP until Oct 2018. I have to pray that my aunt live to see the replacement flat. By then, she will be 100yo
But if she uplorry before the replacement flat is ready and I am still under MOP, I wonder what will happen to the selection
Even if she survive to see her replacement flat and dies before MOP, I again wonder what will happen to her replacement flat
Her replacement flat cannot be sold if under MOP and I don't want to sell my own flat even after my MOP. Sucks!PeanutCookie

Balcony or no balcony
Hi guys, going for my selection this week. Looking at site A. Debating whether to go for unit with or without balcony cos both has pros and cons. Any advice please?

Why not just look at the floor plan in the brochure. Model at hdb hub is not wysiwyg as sizes and layout is different unless you just want to see the site plan.
You can choose "no loan" first and then submit documents when it is nearer completion of flat
I was told the same thing but when put down to email, the officer choose not to state so directly
Can share what the officer states?
yup it usually does. When, HDB decision.
